This saga of retribution begins with Bill (David Carradine) and the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad aka DIVAS (Michael Madsen, Lucy Liu, Daryl Hannah and Vivica A. Fox) obliterating ?The Bride? (Uma Thurman?s) wedding. No one survived except the bride herself but she sadly lost the child she was carrying. Awakened from her five years coma, The Bride goes on a path of vengeance on her former employer and his associates. From Pasadena CA to Austin Texas and Tokyo Japan, ?the Bride? leaves a trail of devastation. But will she finally KILL BILL, the one man who has shattered all her dreams? Hell Yha!

Warren Beatty is such an idiot! God is he ever stupid, how could he possibly turn down the role of Bill? His performance would have sorry could have extended his legend for another generation. Regrettably, he didn't seem to think so. How Pathetic. David Carradine, on the other hand, is an exciting choice. The Kung-Fu star has been enormously low profile in the nineties. This role will definitely resurrect his career, similar to what Quentin did with John Travolta, Pam Grier and Robert Forster. In chapter five, where we finally see Bill for the first time, it is amazing. He goes into an underground casino for an assignment. It's an astonishing setup for his character. We witness his professionalism and his fury. It's somethin' all right. Don't be surprised to see Carradine win some sort of award at the next Cannes film festival.

I really loved Pulp Fiction and the trailer for this film looks really amazing. However, I'm really annoyed that Harvey Weinstein has decided to divide the 3-hour film that Tarantino made into 2 90-minute movies. I just may not see them in the theater for that reason.

I first saw Pulp Fiction 10 years ago. It changed the way I watched films forever. Quentin Tarantino reinvented the definition of cool cinema for an entire movie generation and me as well. It was a masterpiece of 90s filmmaking. His follow-up, Jackie Brown, was a little different. Some people loved it and others despise it with a passion. I liked it. After a 5 year pluss of waiting, Quentin has finally finished a new Movie. Entitled Kill Bill!

I think it will be worth the wait. Quentin was absolutely right about waiting for Uma to do this film. I can't imagine anyone else playing The Bride. It's true I've been admiring Uma for almost a decade now. Tall, talented, sexy and gorgeous. What more can a guy ask for? Well, can she kick some serious ass? This picture will erase any doubts about that. The Bride aka Black Mamba is a professional assassin and a damn good one too. She can use a knife, samurai sword and her own body to wreak havoc. I'm drooling with anticipation for her fight-scenes. UMA RULES!!!

Traantino is a master of trash. That's not as negative as it sounds, and I'm really hoping Kill Bill turns out to be a lot of kung-fu fun. The only threat is if he decides to take his story seriously.

A lot of people love Tarantino's work, but unfortunately no one loves it nearly as much as he does. Too often, he strays way over the line between "self-conciously hip" and into "narcissistic," and narcissism only works when the artist actually has something to say, not when he just has a neat visual style. I've heard countless people talk about how Pulp Fiction "totally changed how I look at movies" but I've never heard anyone say that it changed the way they feel about movies, or that it changed the way the feel about anything else (besides John Travolta as a credible actor.) Pulp Fiction was entertaining, yes, but it has all the depth of a half-drained kiddie pool. He wants to be Scorsese, but he's better off being Roger Corman.

Again, I think as long as Tarantino just set out to have fun with Kill Bill, it'll be a pretty good flick. If he expects people to take life lessons from Uma the same way he tried to in Pulp Fiction, there's gonna be trouble.

I've walked out of three movies in my life. I'm very frugal and I can't stand wasting good money. This was one of the movies I walked out of. I liked the beginning and really got into the story, but the blood fountains were just too much for me. It was comically fake. I'm told it's supposed to be like that. Well show me it's a freakin' b-movie blood fest in the trailers and I wouldn't have gone.

It was very choppy having the great story, then you get to comic book Lucy Lui and then the 100 stumpy arms shooting blood like a damn cone firework. I want my $5.50 back and the 2 hours I wasted trying to justify the overly gratuitous gore.

I have to agree, Bobafemme, the blood fountains were unrealistic and laugable. Then the constant going backwards in time had its upsides and downsides. It's a weird movie.

Didn't anyone go to watch the classic old Kung Fun movies played at the dollar cinema in the "bad neighborhoods" when they were growing up? Or at the very least watch "KUNG FU THEATER" Sunday afternoon's on the USA network during the 80's?

If you didn't have access to these...then MUCH of Kill Bill wont ring with you....including blood showers. The other ticket in is if your'e a big Anime fan. I personally don't like Anime (or most of it)...nor do I like many comic books for that manner.

This movie is pretty much a tribute to all those horrible Kung Fu movies...paid hommage by stealing (admitadly) all the "best parts" of them.

As I said in the Movie thread....even I got kind of bored with the B-Grade silliness by the end. I'm thinking (and let's hope) that that the blood shower gimmick will only be used in the O-Ren Ishii episode...which did run a bit long.

Overall, I liked the movie and recommend it.

Of course, fountains of blood make for some great parody potential... ;)

KIll Bill 2 ... Oh yah!!!!!!! After having killed the first two on her death list, O-Ren Ishii and Vernita Green, The Bride continues in her journey of vengeance to hunt down and kill the remaining victims, Elle Driver, Budd, and ultimately, Bill. However, matters become complicated when The Bride learns that her daughter, whom she presumed dead, is still alive.

Pulp Fiction didn't necessarily change the way I look at movies...but it changed the way I feel about movies. if that makes any sense.

i saw it thirteen times at the show. it was my obsession. and i think it started my real awakening as a movie buff, realizing there's more to the world of film than the latest summer blockbuster.

i haven't really seen it since, and i wanted to see the original kill bill, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

i like tarantino's films on a visceral level; they really get me in the gut. but i don't know if i'd defend them as "art." i think they're best recognized, like pengy said, as grand, glorious, brilliant trash. and i think tarantino might even feel the same way, deep deep down, in parts he doesn't talk about.

    jackie brown, however, is art.

does anyone else suspect theexecutor IS tarantino?

reservoir dogs - average. i think i'm one of the few people who really don't give a crap about this movie. it does contain the hallmark of tarantino films, good plot and good acting, weak everything else.

pulp fiction - excellent film. it had polish and grit and reality and humor and action. it covered all the bases. as far as i am concerned its tarantino's ONLY good work.

jackie brown - garbage. i found it to be a very boring film. its a shame too because the acting was good and i like pam grier. again good plot, good acting, bad everything else.

kill bill vol 1 - another average film that some people LOVE. my old roommate went as far as to buy the japanese import box set with the sword(nerd!). i was entertained by it while at the same time thinking that this movie is completely and totally forgettable once i leave the theater. again good plot, good acting, bad everything else. and i LIKE old kung fu flicks, and a little anime(most is crap).

i really do not understand this cult following that tarantino has. four films, one of which is spectacular the rest of which are craptacular. i just don't get it.

I'd rather eat glass than sit through Kill Bill 1 again (oh wait, I walked out so it wouldn't be again).

I'll take a pass on Kill Bill 2. I'd rather watch the latest talking pets flick.

Goat - could you expound on "bad everything else"? Cuz you say "good plot, good acting", and I can't quite understand what would be left that's bad?

    Scenery?
    Shameless product placement?
    Hairstyles?
