[image=http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/1109/10/starwarsknight5.jpg] STAR WARS: KNIGHT ERRANT--DELUGE #5 John Jackson Miller (W), David Daza (P), Sergio Abad (I), Michael Atiyeh (C), and Joe Quinones (Cover) Final issue! Caught between a Sith and a Hutt, Jedi Knight Kerra Holt must battle both to save the billions on the planet Darkknell from being drowned by a fleet of ships with the power to flood the planet! Her plan is full-steam-ahead brute force--but her enemies are more cunning than she expected. Is this the end of Kerra Holt, the lone Jedi? 40 pages, $3.50.
I hope not, this series has barely had 10 issues (well, and a novel, but still). I'm hoping the final issue just refers to the end of this arc. Glancing at Aflame's summary, it called that the concluding issue of Aflame, just hope this isn't the end of another JJM series, its far too soon. Anyway, Kerra is always good at the brute force approach, but it doesn't always work out for her. Nice enough cover, reminds me a bit of a RotJ poster (the green lightsaber, the Hutt in the background, that sort of thing), and I think that is one of the Hutt's fighters, hm, let's see, I think they were called Scavengers (maybe). Looking forward to seeing how this arc ends (and hope its only the end of this arc), Knight Errant's been a very interesting series/era.
They're doing series by arcs now. It's the final issue of "Knight Errant: Deluge" (and note that it's not identified as "Knight Errant #10").
I'm sure the blurb is just as accurate as every old tv show that ended with "Is this the end of our heroes?" The last issue and episode is NEVER a surprise. No if this was the last Knight Errant we'd have the words FINAL ISSUE printed about fifty times in that one blurb and worked into every sentence.
I'm guessing the Sith mentioned here is Daiman, but it would be cool if it was Arkadia or even someone new. And I wouldn't worry about this being called the final issue, since they've been doing that ever since the switch to individual "series" under the banner of a single title.
Hey, Kerra looks less strange than usual on this cover! Internal art she looks fine, but the covers she always looks weird, sometimes crosseyed.
Glad the panic about the final issue was ended before it could even really get going. Seriously, if they suddenly ended Knight Errant on us, my reaction would probably make Vader's infamous NOOOOO! look like a noncommital grunt.
That's referring to the final issue of the arc. As always, more will be announced as more is announced.
Always makes me feel glad how in touch with the fans you are, JJM! Definitely an up side to being a KE fan.
http://www.darkhorse.com/Comics/Previews/17-785?page=0 The preview is up, and its always fun to hear Lord Daiman and his messages. Pretty nice space battle scenes too. Looking forward to the end of Knight Errant's second arc, its all been pretty good so far, and curious to see what Kerra will manage this time (although Jenn is right, who needs a bomb when you've got Kerra).
As for what he said about a conspiracy against him, if he willed a conspiracy to be made against him, he's as deluded as he is egotistical, which is well beyond any capacity a Corellian could muster.
Probably as good a place as any to ask this... I'm gonna start the Knight Errant series this week, and I want to read Influx, though it's been taken off of SW.com. Any place I can find it?
You just discovered the sorry state, IMHO, of the Star Wars website. Short stories like that, the Hyperspace Exclusive comics, etc. - all in digital limbo. We can only hope that the admins and powers-that-be get around to reposting these and making them available for everyone.
Wookieepedia has a backup link to it, but it only seems to have the first page. Since it's free anyway, and if anyone happens to have it saved, I'd be really grateful if you could PM it.
Count me in, too, if you can. I was actually on my way to reread Influx when I found out about the new OS.
I've got both Influx and the Essential Atlas Gazetteer saved as pdf files. PM me your e-mail address, and I can send those to you.
The second series was better than the first, but this series seems mired in pretty dull subplot-level stories. If Miller comes back to this, I hope he broadens the scope and gets in touch with his KOTOR muse...
Wonder if you'll still be of this view after reading the finale? Talking of which, it's damn good: We get Damian, always dementedly good plus brief appearances from some of his equally nuts extended family. There's one hell of a space battle, Kerra ends up duelling Zodah, whose final exit is, in a way, a pity as he's one of the best villain creations seen in some time. And his final fate? Let's just say it's very fitting and not spoil it. Art is good throughout with Daza being asked to supply varied visuals and succeeding in all respects. Finally, the letter page confirms that Knight Errant: Escape begins June 2012!
I quite agree: Zodah is one of the more interesting villians to be turned out by recent EU works (most of the others come from this series as well). Karma's a entertaining b**** though, so I enjoyed it anyway. Alright, so now we have a great set-up for the rest of the series: Kerra has her own ship, a safe haven, and a route to evacuate refugees back to the Republic. Can't wait to see where this goes from here: here's hopeing that she takes down a Sith Lord next arc.
