Does anyone know if any problems have arisen with the game, driver problems, incompatibility, that kinda thing?

The first game didn't work too good with the recent Catalyst updates for ATI, does anyone know if this problem has resurfaced with KotoR 2 for PC?

Oh, the problems. For one, it seems that a whole bunch of people quite a few with ATI Radeon cards, can't get it to go much further than creating a character. Just go to the Lucasarts Tech Support forums if you want to see. Eurgh. I do hope they're working on a patch, because a portion of people, even with all their specs surpassing the requirements, it doesn't work for them. Sometimes, it seems like it has something to do with DVD programs of some sort (DVD creator, DVD to AVI, for example). Not always, I'm guessing, but that's just some things I've observed on the Tech support forum.

I had to disable the cut scene movies to get my game to work. And of course I have an ATI video card.

Does anybody know where to find the cheats for the PC yet?

    ...

Dammit. I have an ATI card and I just this morning bought KotOR 2. I guess I'll see how my computer copes with it when I get back to it on Sunday.

Okay. Here's a doozy. I got it Wednesday and started playing it. Everything was going fine. I finish for the evening, save the game, and shut down. I decide to continue the next evening. I click on the desktop icon and I get the screen where my options are Game, Configure, Update, Register, and Exit. I click on Game and wait for the game to start up. But nothing happens. For the record, my OS is Windows 98, and the game said my computer met the requirements for it to run properly.

I decide to uninstall the game, but I kept the configuration and save files. I then reinstall the game, and after checking if my computer meets the requirements, I'm in the game again. I had to do this several times over the past few days, so I decided to take the game back to the store and exchange it, thinking the disks were defective. I get a new copy, install it, and everything goes fine. I leave, come back later to play again, and the same thing happens again. What's the deal here?

Also, I delivered this same message and the specifics about my computer to Lucasarts Tech. Maybe they'll address this in the first patch, whenever they get that out.

Seems to work fine on my Radeon 9000 on my desktop and the Radeon 9600 on my laptop... none of the problems like in the unpatched version of the original.

My Radeon 9800 has worked admirably so far, though I am using quite old drivers.

To the person that wanted cheats: apparently the same cheat method for KotOR1 still applies, with the same codees, but the console won't come up (i.e you won't see what you're typing.) All the cheats should still work though.

I have audio problems and some crazy glitch that zips through dialogue. The 2 seem to be related as the music is funny when the dialogue problems occured. I had the same problem in KotOR. But it was only when you went to the Shadowlands and met Jolee.

Sarg_Kulo - That's exactly what happens to me. i can play only if i disable the movies, but that spoils a great chunk of atmosphere.

Guess what I have an ATI radeon card too - does anyone know of a patch?

If you mean to the game, then there's no such patch yet.

Guys, how did it take the 1.03 patch for the first KOTOR to come out after game release? How many months? It could indicate the duration this time.

I'm skimming the Web for the issue of having to "Disable Sounds" in order to play the game.

Without doing this, the game simply dumps to desktop after you select "Game" on the loader. If you do it, then you can play fine ... except there's NO sound. (Which really stinks.)

Updating sound drivers has only worked for one person. Everyone else has the most recent drivers and still no success... And it doesn't seem to be a matter of killing background processes either -- mine still doesn't work, even on a clean boot with nothing but essentials running.

The issue's a hot one over at the LucasArts.com and Obsidianent.com tech support boards. If anyone has any idea of what could be wrong and could post something, I'd be obliged. Thanks!

I had to install the program 4 times before it took, and there are still some glitches. Every now and then it just goes real fast past dialouge.

Also it seems no matter what time i run I never qualify for a swoop race, ever. *shrugs*

I'm eating my words. I turned off the computer for a while and restarted it. I tried to start the game, and I'm finding the same problem. Apparently, nVidia has nothing to do with it.

The first PC-class patch is out . . . but it's for the internat buyers, not English countries, and a minor one.

Does anyone have a good idea on how to fix that?

If only I had read this thread early, I've been looking at the black screen with music playing for quite some time myself.

I'll never understand how games get released with these types of problems.

Does anyone have a direct link to those Nvidia or ATI downloads that seem to get it to work? Wal Mart wont give me my money back. They only allow me to get another copy of the same game. Go figure.

I temporarily got stuck in a wall edge very early in the game. Thought I was dreaming it.
