kotor 2 is the best star wars game there is in my opinion. id love there to be a kotor 3 eventually. but id like some discussions on the sith lords for now
It isn't even the best KOTOR game. And almost surely, there won't ever be a Kotor 3. Saying that, I liked the game a lot and the Exile (retroactively named Meetra Surik) is a fantastic protagonist, while Kreia is one of the best companions ever.
KotOR 2, The Sith Lords is better than KotOR on many levels, but not without its own flaws. Bioware had plenty of time to finish KotOR, but BIS was pressed for time with the sequel that they did. KotOR 2, really rewarded your game play with the choices you made, great storylines, allowed you to tell what choices you made in KotOR, really made you want to explore the games as nearly every planet you visited allowed you to recruit a crew members, introduced you to the Lightsaber forms.
There were rumours, before the Disney takeover, about KoTOR 3 but I think it will never happen. IMHO KoTOR I was better than the sequel. I still play it a few times a year; it's that darn addictive.
KOTOR beats its sequel if for no other reason than it never needed a restoration project. Part II has considerable strengths and goes places its predecessor didn't, but I always play w/ a tinge of sadness at its incompletion. Maybe it's for the best that Part III doesn't happen. I wanted TPTB to keep the Old Republic an accommodating universe regardless of your gender and name choices, none of this canon Revan or "Meetra Surik" nonsense.
I'm still of the hope that they'll bring a Kotor 3. Or at least a proper star wars RPG that is similar. Kotor 1 was better than Kotor 2, though the characters in number 2 such as Kreia were far more interesting.
