KOTOR replaces REPUBLIC series! REBELLION and PURGE too!

Dark Horse made accidently an annoucement yesterday about the new SW comic series, which will start after Republic this fall. And it is KOTOR!!!

Rebellion looks a bit dodgy, tho - isn't it just a renamed Empire?

Now I truly will become a geek. I have to read these comics. Must...see...Mandalorians..kill...pansies...

 

The new Rebellion series seems to just be a renaming of Empire, since Empire was focused more on Rebellion stories lately anyway. As for KOTOR, will it be an independent title or a video game tie-in? Because if it's a tie-in where I will have to have full knowledge of the game and its plot, I'll probably have to pass.

 

Rebellion? That really just looks like a re-named Empire...

im not familiar with any one the characters on the cover. even the droid looks like from the different time than the games... maybe that a xim war droid?

Is it just me, or is this the best non-RotS-related news this year? Hopefully we'll get cameos from the KotOR/TotJ series, but personally, I'd love to see the KotOR-era Coruscant explored in post-Prequel detail. Wonder if this series will tie in to Revan's UR quest?

Whatever the outcome, this series will definately rock. Can't wait!

Yes, Rebellion looks like the continuation of Empire, but maybe it will now focus on the birth of the Alliance?!

I guess KOTOR will be set in the game time frame, just like most comics were set in the film series time frames.
I can imagine that we will see known KOTOR characters, but we will also meet many new ones.

 

I wonder if they will tie in the video game it'll be cool to read about Darth Revan and the Mandelorians

I'm guessing we'll also only see Revan mased if we even see him/her at all, so that you can't tell the gender etc.


EDIT: This doesn't say what's replacing TALES, so there's reoom for the future of Republic yet

 

It would be great to have a kind of prequel story to the first game. With the Rise of the Sith. Revan could be masked and his/her voice could be made different, so that it is not clear, whether Revan is a woman or a man.

Can't wait to see more of the cool looking Sith Troopers.

 

Yeah and in the game there are two endings so who knows what the story may actually be though i have a feeling it will be Revans redemption that will prevail

 

The canon version of the story was that Revan was LS male. We still dont know the canon version of the Exile though, though three guesses on what it is. I'll give you a hint, it starts with a L and ends with a S.

 

That's true. It was even the basis for KOTOR II, although it was never clearly mentioned.

The art on the KOTOR cover is Brian Ching's work and I think the Rebellion cover is his, too.
