KOTOR: Unable to authenticate original disc within time limit

So I just got KOTOR today from amazon.com. I installed it, and plated it for a bit, and it worked great. I went out for a few hours, then when I got home and went to play it again, I got the following error: Unable to authenticate original disc within time limit I tried reinstalling, and it still didn't work. I updated all my patches for the game. Nothing. It's Friday night, and tech support won't be available until prolly Tuesday because of the holiday. If anyone can help me solve this problem, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Could your disc be scratched?

Anyway, I recommend trying to find a no-CD patch on the Internet. I'm not sure if providing links to such things is permissible, so I won't direct you, but they're out there.

Well he does own the game... isn't it legal then?

Or is it just the site in general. Megagames (Won't link it) is pretty reputable when it comes to that. A few trainers, but yeah, nothing bad though. Of course I haven't gone there in months, could be anything now. Go at your own risk.

I cleaned the disc, updated my patches, reinstalled, and still nothing

EDIT: Yes, I legally own the game. It's been paid for, the reciept is in is correct, and now this. That 30 warentee better not include holidays and sundays, ro saturdays since they don't offer tech support on Saturdays.

 

wash your cd with soap and water. Get a cd-drive cleaner.
