Does the usage of the Force to telekinetically manipulate lightsabers ever appear in any other form of Expanded Universe, and is it ever named?

I think Kreia's the only one that's managed to telekinetically duel a Jedi with three lightsabers.

mace windu in jedi power battles game uses the somewhat same technique but with only one lightsaber... wouldnt it fall under a more complicated/higher level of lightsaber throwing?

Or, here's an odd thought, maybe it was just a video game gimmick rather than actual lightsaber style of combat?

What's wrong with Jedi telekinetically using lightsabers? Yoda is able to levitate himself.

Jedi use TK to recall their lightsabers to them. As I recall, Luke used TK on his lightsaber in TaB to slice the crystal in the messenger droid to prevent it from blowing up and taking both himself and Wedge out in the process. In Jedi Academy if you choose dual lightsabers to replace the one you loose after you're run in with Rosh, then there's this lovely little manuver you can do where you've got both blades spinning in the air as they revolve around you as you crouch down. Reborn with dual lightsabers love to preform that manuver as well. That would have to require a Jedi or dark sider to use TK. Also in the game at levels two and three on lightsaber throw you gain the ability to control the lightsabers flight path by the way you move, that's also TK.

Maybe she's the only one to have done it, not the only one that can.

Ooh, I can't check right now, but in Heroes Guide or something isn't there a freat that lets you do stuff like that? I'll have a look after my exam.

Because somebody has to say it...
Kreia uses a one handed lightsaber style. Natch.

And as for the 3 floating lightsabers, Its a very special force power: Force end battle cop out.

Luke also used a telekinetic attack with his lightsaber when dealing with a bunch of Noghri on Bimmisaari in the "Thrawn Trilogy." And I'm sure you're right Tam this telekinesis Force power does appear in the "Hero's Guide."

It was a pretty pathetic Technique though as it was somewhat easy to over come and if the game mechanic had been anything more like real life then your superior movement would easily overcome it. Any lightsaber style that placed its emphasis on gymnastic ability would be able to beat it as Kreia had to concentrate fully to the exclusion of all else to perform it.

Luke had that moment in Specter of the Past where he used TK manipulate his lightsaber to cut himself free when trapped in the airtight room with all the bars (aka the elaborate Jedi trap set up by smugglers "just in case")

yeah there's a technique in the heros guide for it, but rather than strength of body, it takes strength of mind, obviously :p

I thought it was another force-illusion. Aren't the lightsabers copies of your own.
