Kyle Katarn/Mara Jade torrid affair

Okay I have a filthy mind but in Mysteries of the Sith does anyone get the idea that inbetween Luke Skywalker that Mara Jade's "tutelage" under the halfway educated Kyle Kataarn (I assume he got some teaching from Luke inbetween along with his own studies of the Ruusan documents) included a romance?

I know it's all Jedi and stuff for a hero to rescue their teacher whose gone to the Dark Side but RETURNING FROM THE PATH OF EVIL IS AN EXTREMELY RARE EVENT.

Mara Jade and Kyle are both two very attractive, very intelligent, ex-Imperials with blots on their past they are ashamed of and are living together (I'm sure that went over with Jan real well-presuming she didn't dump him before or was off on mission or killed)....

Is it so hard to imagine something might have "clicked" between them?

I mean it does make the fact Mara Jade, not known for her virginal holiness qualities, was willing to go through literally Hell and back in a Sith temple to recover Kyle and was able to SOMEHOW make a connection with her teacher and bring him back from the Dark Side.

Forgive me if that means to me I think there was something going on.

Passion if not love.

Kyle is married to Jar Ors, isn't he? I don't see him as the type to have an extramarital affair. Actually, I don't see either of them as the type to have an affair with anyone.

 

Where does it say he marries Jan BEFORE training Mara? I have heard that they married, but I'm pretty sure that was after.
However, I just dont think Mara is the type to get involved with many men. I mean face it, Luke is one lucky guy himself to have finally snagged her, and that took him like 15 years!

 

Nothing indicates that they were married.

 

Personally I want to know where Jan was in all of this. After all they were living together hand in pocket for what appears to have been about five years before Kyle and her finally turned from associates to something more....

Then boom she dissapears three years later during Dark Empire where Kyle is now with a beautiful slinky redhead who has just been redeemed from the Dark Side and apparently Luke doesn't have the kahones to ask her out....

Hence my theory that Kyle and she had an affair.

Not to mention also the fact I can imagine the "comforting women" type when it comes to the massive trauma Mara must have been feeling when she came to realize the Emperor was alive and she had ROYALLY failed his test to see if she was still loyal.

Personally, I think they did have something going, and would very much like to see a book or some thing about it like they have for the other Dark Force series. Also I find it hard to believe that Mara, an attractive women would not get in any personal relationship f or at least fifteen years, and Kyle is far more believable then some one else.

First off, Kyle's credentials as a Jedi teacher are beyond reproach. He had mastered training from his Jedi Master, Rahn before training Jade. He was not half-trained, nor ever required any training with Luke Skywalker to establish his ability to teach an apprentice.

That aside, I think it is entirely plausible. IMO, Katarn did engage in some...ahem... extracurricular activities with Jade between lightsaber training.

I would think if both were single which they were that maybe through the whole training process they did get close. Maybe something did happen, it would explain somethings, like how she was able to bring him back from the dark side.

I'd like to think that something happened cause I mean fifteen years with out someone is a long time. And unless it is proven in a book or something I will think they had a relationship

 

That leads back to Luke's life. Hum... Almost no woman until 19ABY. (Except short relationships with Callista - mere weeks/months - and Akanah - one night -) That's quite suspect... Don't you think the guy sometimes hum... how can I say it in a decent way ?... exchanged credits for some time with a charming girl (just to chat a few hours, of course - ahem -) ???

Of course, he'd have to leave Yavin, it's not really crowded around there after the evacuation of the Rebels...

Of course they had a relationship...but that doesn't mean they were lovers. It is indeed possible to have a close or intimate friendship or bond with someone without jumping into bed with them...of course, Mara did sleep with Lando.

As to Luke . . . I doubt he'd go whoring but I also doubt he remained chaste...besides, there's like 5 trillion women in the republic who would give anything to sleep with him...he wouldn't have to pay...

What the *Censored* are you guys talking about? is it another comics thing? If this stuff is true I really starting to hate the Comics. Even more than when I had to get DE to make sense of the JAT.

 

There making up stuff not written down based on limited knowledge of what was in a story in MOTS(which had nothing of the sort implied.).
