***Laci Peterson Case Discussion***

I'm posting this because I've been pretty interested in this case from it's outset, and I noticed that there hasn't been any threads (as far as I noticed) on the subject in several months...



Most folks know that the bodies of Laci and her baby were found along a shore, and husband, Mark Peterson is currently in custody as the lead suspect.

I saw earlier today on MSNBC an interview with Mark Peterson's parents outside their home in Modesto, CA.....

Anyone else see this? It was pretty intersesting....



I'll appologize in advance for not having the links and whatnot to the stories, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to go to Foxnews.com, CNN.com, or MSNBC.com......


Please discuss your theories, and thoughts on what might be an interesting trial..

I've been very interested in this story.

Scott Peterson kept digging himself deeper and deeper in a hole with the answers he keep giving to the police. Such as the cement blocks, he told the police they belonged to the guys working on the pool, and the guys that worked on his pool said they weren't. His Alibi has fallen, Scott didn't think they would ever find the bodies that's why he gave them the location of where he was. If he is not convicted of murder than something is very wrong.

 

If Steve isn't guilty, he certainly is acting like he is. But from everything I have read, I think he did it.

 

Yeah, I think Bob Peterson is guilty as sin......

Actually, I was quite interested to hear that there were other pregnant women killed in the Bay Area and found in the same place in January...... this was from Scott Peterson's Parents interview that was on MSNBC today.... Apparently the cops and the press haven't been real thrilled to elaborate on this.....

Could there actually be a serial killer on the loose that is stalking and killing pregnant women?

I didn't hear about that, but I did hear the part about a girl that Scott went to College with that disappeared. Very interesting...

 

There was another pregnant women who was killed in that area recently. She dissapeared last summer, and they didn't find her body for a long time after that. She was a poor immigrant and the father of her child was a married man, I wonder if he tried to get rid of her because she was going to tell or something. She too was around 8 months pregnant. The other case involved a pregnant woman in California who dissapeared a few years ago. I can't remember if she was ever found or not... but none of it sounded like it was at all connected to Laci Peterson. I think the parents just don't want to believe their son killed his pregnant wife.

Anyway, I had been following this story since the beginning, and I was really hoping for a happy ending. It's just so tragic it turned out this way.

The interview on MSNBC with Scott's parents was pretty interesting though... They were saying that bodies were showing up in the same place where Laci and child were found three months before, and there was no mention of this....by the press or the police....

They (the Petersons) were claiming that the authorities didn't seem to have any interest in these events, and haven't persued them....


Don't get me wrong, I think Scott Peterson's a turd, regardless.....but I think these other avenues need to be fully explored before they send him to trial.....

 

I live a couple miles from Modesto and this news has been all over the local news channels.

No disrespect but this would make an interesting movie.

 

I'm sure they'll make a movie..... I won't see it... but I'm sure it'll happen...

I can understand why they feel that way... what parents want to believe their child is a murderer? But it really looks to me like he was the one responsible. I can't blame them for refusing to believe that is true, because no parent would ever want to...

 

Yeah, that's pretty sad when it comes out that he did it........ They will look like fools......



I'm trying to keep an open mind though.... just for the heck of it.... Just in case something else comes up...

but sadly enough, I'm pretty sure he did it....

 

I am almost positive the guy is guilty.

The evidence supports his guilt.

1. Had an affair with Amber-whats-her-name and claimed that he had "lost his wife" to get her into bed with him before Laci disappeared.

**Also supposedly stated that he did not want a family.

2. Shortly after disappearance of his wife, he sells her SUV and buys a truck, as if he knew she would never be returning.

3. Always referred to his wife in the past tense, as if he knew she would never come back.

4. *perhaps the most damning evidence of all*
The bodies of Laci and Connor washed up along the shore near the very marina he had been at the night before she disappeared.

 

Let's not forget, his hair is now Blonde and he was found with $10,000 on him in cash (now who walks around with that amount of money on them ?)

It's been so easy to point a finger at Scott Peterson..... almost to a fault......



Ok... he had an affair with this Amber chick..... gah, are they always named Amber? (darned homewreckers)

but why? He had it made....... What is it about Laci that hasn't made the news?


I guess he didn't want kids, and really hated how she insisted that floral prints really go with plaids.....

I dunno...


Scott Peterson has totally made himself out to be punk..... and he's gonna go down....

I really do, however feel for the extended family that is involved in all of this.......

Ten thousand dollars can go a long way in Mexico...

I was surprised by his arrogance and stupidity that he didn't "Make a run for the boarder" earilier......

It is quite an interesting and heartbreaking one...


So does anyone thing they will ever determine Laci's cause of death? I mean without her head, arms, and the fact that she is so badly decomposed...well it does not seem good...

I truly believe that you're not guilty until proven so and I do in this case as well. Even though the evidence (or lack therefore of) against Scott may be staggering, I'm still holding fast to this belief. And even if he did kill his wife, he will get what is his in the end.

This is so sad. I just can't believe someone would do this...

 

Remember the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping? Last summer the police believed a handyman named Richard Ricci was the kidnapper. He seem to fit as a kidnapper. Then we find out it was Brian David Mitchell, another handiman.

So I just have to say it could be possible someone else killed Laci Peterson, since some people have mentioned there were other deaths like hers. But I can concede, with what I know, which is very little, that the husband is a dog, and maybe he killed his wife the way he did, hoping people think some serial killer killed her.

 

I didn't know about the other cases involving pregnant women in the area...have to dig around and find some articles about those cases.

But it still does seem extremely likely that the old boy did kill his wife and son...simply from the manner of his actions after her "disappearance". Unless he was panicking because he knew they would accuse him of the murders, even if he didn't do them...but if that were the case, he still doesn't help himself by going to those measures. He still looks guilty.

But I think the crucial evidence lies in his selling of her Land Rover, and trying to sell the house. Those ARE NOT the actions of an innocent man, those are the actions of a guilty and extremely stupid man.

 

If You killed someone, and wanted people to think you were innocent, would you change your hair color and lose 15 pds and walk around with 10 G and have your brothers ID???

I must say however, that I have this feeling that it may have been accidental, and that he may of thought that if he was to report it, that the girlfriend thing would come out and so he decided to dump the body...

I dont see how he could of killed her just because he was having an affair, there is something more to this story still...

I'm very curious to see what evidence the police have on Scott that hasn't been shared yet.

 

Well, I'm certainly not trying to imply the guy is innocent...he was acting like the classic guilty man.

As for the other cases of pregnant women murdered in the same area, the only one I could find any reference to was Evelyn Fernandez. Since her murder occurred before Laci Peterson's, this may have given Scott Peterson the idea of how to kill his wife, and where to dump her body. The similarities are there, though not so significantly to where one could say it's a serial killer committing these murders.

 

Hey..... I dunno about those other cases. It was in the interview with Scott Peterson's parents on Sunday on MSNBC that it was stated that other pregnant women had gone missing and washed ashore dead....

The Petersons were saying that the police had botched the case and were railroading their son.... Basically, they were conveying that the police believed Scott did it, and were discounting any other evidence and not even persuing other avenues...


That's why I'm so interested in hearing what the Modesto police have on him.

I don't know about the $10,000 cash, but I might die my hair and change my appearance just to try to avoid the bad publicity. It was a big case and he had become infamous. If I was involved in a big case like that I might try to conceal my identity as often as possible.
