Layne Staley - Two years later...

On April 5'th, 2002, Alice in Chains lead singer Layne Staley was found dead in his Seattle apartment, apparently from a 'cocktail' mixture of heroin and cocaine.

So both Cobain and Staley died on April 5th? That's a little... creepy.

 

Did Layne actually die on the 5th or was that just when they found him? Not like it makes a huge difference. He is still gone.

It's also said that Layne's death is a suicide as well. From what I heard, River Phoenix and John Belushi died with the same lethal combination.

 

Ewwwww he died on the 5th but they found him on the 19th.

That is creapy how they both died on the same day.

Dude, I knew that Cobaine died on the 5th, but I didn't know that Staley did too. That's just creepy ......... sounds like a conspiracy to me

 

Layne appeared on celebrity _"Jeopardy!" (1984)_ a few years back, crushing opponents Tony Danza and Dr. Ruth Westheimer. He gave show host Alex Trebek the finger in a dispute over the Dead Sea scrolls.

 

That is freaky. In my oppinion his death has more of an impact on the future than kurt's. No one knew kurt was gonna do it. Everyone said layne was cleaning up. There was talk of an AIC reunion if layne stayed clean. Most likely Kurt wanted to die, I dont think layne did. Its more tragic when you realize how much people did to help him, but his adiction failed him.

I've often wondered if he did that on purpose. I remember when they first found him, and thinking "Please don't tell me he died on the fifth..." Creepy. Must be some sort of curse.

It's all Robert Johnson's fault, I tell you! If he hadn't sold his soul to the devil they'd all be alive!

 

I remember when I heard he was found. I was on my way to an after-prom party. When I got there, I was pissed off the DJ didn't have any AIC.

 

Someone should tell all of this to Scott Weiland.

The only person who hasn't died, became a parody of his own sound or become known as "The guy from that band 15 years ago..." trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel of the music world for that last amount of fame and money is Jerry Cantrell.

 

Don't bring Scott into this. Scott has done 6 months of lockdown rehab now. He gets tested daily. If he does it, he goes to jail for 1 year. Layne never got caught and subjegated to this. If he had, id bet he'd still be alive today.
