Legends and Legacies:
    The Blood Warrior

Beneath the clouds of the peaceful sky,
    Among the wind?s blissful sigh,
Joy and laughter one does create,
While the hidden shadow lies in wait.

    ~Fralen, elven poet

It is 1697. For nearly 1700 years, the kingdom of Lhedos has been a beacon of peace, honor, and integrity, a land of little violence and of much joy. A land of dreams, a kingdom of prosperity where humans, elves and dwarves live together in harmony.

Though some have risen and brought challenge to the reign of peace, all attempts of evil have been quelled by the venerable forces of the King?s Army. Though rebels in the House of Magi have attempted to utilize their talents for the benefit of darkness, they have been swiftly silenced.

Many say the past century has been the kingdom?s brightest under the rules of Sondim, and Deromus before him. Every man, woman and child are free to pursue their life aspirations free from fear and the trepidation of evil.

And though legends never die, it is in the face of certain doom where legacies are born. This is your story.

[blockquote][li]Former King Deromus (b. 1587, d. 1667) - Deromus led the Kingdom of Lhedos for over fifty years, earning the veneration of his people when he led them through the Great Rebellion shortly after his father gave him the throne. After that four year war between the Army of Deromus and Human supremacists, peace reigned for the remainder of his tenure. Shortly before his death just over thirty years ago, King Deromus had come face to face with a crucial decision - which of his two sons would take over the throne following his passing. His first son, Erashim, a general for the Army of Deromus, was renowned for his strength on the battlefield and a quick temper that often led him into trouble when it came to politics. Erashim?s younger brother Sondim, however, was a charismatic Mage who seemed to be born for leadership, possessing the presence and confidence necessary for a new King. Deromus did not take much time to ponder on his choice, and chose Sondim as his successor. He died shortly thereafter from illness that came with old age.[/li]

[li]King Sondim (b. 1634) - A man possessing the admiration and respect of the people of Lhedos, King Sondim has guided his people through an age of prosperity extending from his father?s half-century rule. Born with an uncanny gift for magic, he was brought up in the House of Magi under close supervision of his mother, Yunista. His abilities grew rapidly, and he became one of the finest students the House had ever seen. After he grew into adulthood, he became an advisor to his father and was eventually chosen as his successor to the throne, much to the chagrin of his brother Erashim.[/li]
