This is the first time I've heard about this. Apparently there will be a new Star Wars manga series coming out soon that will be an adaptation of Claudia Gray's novel. Count me in! Princess Leia is getting her own Star Wars manga series at the end of this month, adapting Claudia Gray's novel, Leia: Princess of Alderaaan. A new preview has just been released, revealing the early days and childhood of Leia Organa on her home world of Alderaan. The narrative shows Leia being taught by her adoptive mother and father, culminating in the Day of Demand on her 16th birthday, a traditional ceremony where Princess Leia declares her intention to one day rule the planet as queen. https://screenrant.com/star-wars-leia-princess-alderaaan-manga-preview/
It's been out in Japan for a while now. We've just been waiting for the English translation. There's also a Rebels manga with no English translation yet.
Is the whole thing out? The Wook seems unclear, and I can't read Japanese so **** if I can figure it out from Line's website.
No, I don't think it's complete - the last one released, as far as I can tell, is Chapter 11, which is Leia going to Crait and discovering Bail is a rebel. So, there's still a good chunk of the book left. The English translation is called "Volume 1", though, so it's not going to be the entire thing either.
Righto. I figured I'd read this one all at once as opposed to the Lost Stars manga which I read piecemeal.
I'm not one to collect comic issues, but I'll definitely have the full volume graphic novel on my radar once it's announced.
This isn’t like a single issue of an American comic. Volume 1 is 192 pages according to Amazon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The thing that interests me the most with comic adaptations of books is that any alien or character or whatever that was introduced in the book might get a picture to go along with them now. Fillithar comes to mind.
Clearly there needs to be a Chaos Rising manga so we can see what all the new Unknown Regions aliens and spaceships look like.
We need a manga or comic adaption of EVERY Star Wars novel, Canon and Legends. Star Wars is a visual experience and sadly, novels don't necessarily push that across.
A couple of the novels and/or comic adaptations; including Son of Dathomir as well as Dark Disciple, were initially meant to be featured episodes in TCW of course. The prologue of the Ahsoka novel foreshadowed the Siege of Mandalore episodes of Season 7; though Dave Filoni and crew changed things up a bit.
