It?s hard to believe that it?s right around the corner. Dragon Con 2004 seems like yesterday. I still have a couple of things to do to finish my Dark Jedi costume so I?d better get to it. Hope to see yall there!

S_S edit: just updating title. :)

Hmm, I should probably get very very busy....

So what is everyone planning on wearing, Star Wars and other?

I have a can can dress to debut, and I have the corset to go with it that I need to get started on this weekend. Still hoping to make Aayla Secura and a LOTR elfin gown as well.

How about you?? If you have a secret costume, please do tease us and at least give some clues!

    :)

I just read the name of this thread and had a mini heart attack. :p (Not that I can't count, but just seeing it in print sends panic through my system).

I have 3 costumes planned :D (one I have made before) and two I have never made. But it should be a lot of fun to make something to wear myself. Can you believe I've never dressed as Padme? Well this year I'll have 2 Padmes :D Yeep! So excited.

My CanCan dress is going to be baroque inspired and I get to use a fabric I got for a steal that I've had in my stash for quite a while. I'm also implementing English smocking into it so that's going to be fun. :D

Now here's hoping the diet stays on track :p

Oh yeah, I'm probably going to be my blue Provincial Belle dress from Beauty and the Beast since it's done, fun and comfy to wear and I can use my own hair. :)

I wish I could go :( Not happening with C3 just passing, and building a Darth Vader costume though....

    Arwen Requiem
    Clone Wars Padme
    Leia Ceremonial
    Queen Margot

    Still to do:

Padme Ep. III Black dress and shawl
    Satine's Hindi rehearsal outfit

    Wheee! D*C!

    I'm so excited! :D

I've got a big project I'm working on for my friends - that's going to take up most of my time!
I'm also planning on doing Leia's Rebel Commander uniform, Polychrome from Road to Oz, and an original costume. If I have time, haha!
Also bringing along Starfire (Teen Titans) and Arwen's Blood Red dress, which I hope to finish for Comic Con.

I can't wait! I'm also going to see Phantom of the Opera the Thursday night before, so I'm more excited than usual, lol.

I'm excited and stressing over Dragon*Con as well. I'm not a prolific costumer, so I'll only have a few things to wear.

    - Leia Ceremonial (already done and road tested several times ;) )
    - Padme Ep II Purple "loyalist" Senate gown - putting the finishing embroidery touches on the sleeves right now. Then I just have to hem the coat.

    STILL NEED TO MAKE

    - A Moulin Rouge can-can dress. I'm waivering between French Peasant Antoinette or the Harlequin. Today is the final day of at 30% off sale at Britex, so I'll see if they have any fabric that sways me in one direction or another.

    - Leia ANH hooded dress w/buns. Just waiting for my fabric from Vogue Fabrics. I figure it should only take a few days with muslin experimentation, and then a few days to sew the costume together. I like to do something easy in between the difficult costumes to boost my confidence and have immediate reward. LOL!

I'm not sure if I'll bring my LOTR Arwen mourning gown to wear. Lugging that train around on my arm just felt sloppy and was not fun.

I'm not sure what I'm bringing this year! I'm working on Violet Baudelaire right now, and I hope to finish that and a Sleepy Hollow costume by DCon. Then I'll probably bring Leia Bespin and/or the Padme Picnic gown. Still deciding on LotR. I might just rewear my Shieldmaiden gown. I hate traveling with velvet, so I'd rather leave that home. I spent too much time to crease the velvet up!

I better get cracking with less than 3 months to go!!

    OMG .. dont remind me...

Hey Setra! This will be my 3rd DragonCon! Don't let being an aussie stop you from going!!! I'll vouch that its worth every cent saved up, and every moment spent in the air getting there!

Costumes. Hmm.. waaaay behind as usual. But so far I'll have:

My fae costume - Alderlilli ForestSprite
    MoulinRouge Pink Diamonds
    Darla from the Angel/TV series
    EverAfter Just Breathe Gown
    Dracula/Mina's Bohemian Tea Gown
    Padme's Lake Dress

    MAYBE's:
    - a more girlish slant on a generic Jedi costume, in blue and black
    - another (new) Moulin Rouge costume
    - SUPER HUGE SURPRISE COSTUME that will either be there or wont be.

And considering if its done I'll wear it both Friday and Saturday mornings, AND for the Masquerade, then I haven't a CLUE how I plan to wear all the others. I think I'll start costuming up from Thursday night this year! A bunch of other people did last year, so why not!!!

In reality, methinks some will have to say behind. And I'll let you all know where you can visit me after my nervous breakdown! LOL

Still no D*C for me this year. Maybe 2006? I'm hopeful.

But I have Comic-Con and GenCon in one and two months, respectively, so I should get cracking!

I?m super-psyched about Dragon Con simply because I have not gone to any other cons since Dragon Con 2004. I live just outside of Atlanta so going to Dragon Con is a no-brainer. This is my third time going and my first time dressing up. I had a blast the last two times I went. The highlights for me are seeing all the cool costumes and meeting so many crazy people. I wish that there were more cons in the South-East US.

Great idea Darth Takeo, but it may be hard to swing with everyone's schedules. But let's throw some times out there and see what works.

Friday or Monday is best for me.

    Edit: fixed day

As far as a meeting time, Friday would work best for me since Monday is departure day for us and will probably be hectic.

Man I would love to go to DragonCon. I have heard it is the best of all the major cons. I was at C3, and had a blast, but I think DC would be even better.

So to all that are going...HAVE FUN!

    Vader fan-

Imagine C3 without the lines, half the children, and three times the 'adult beverages'.

I call it the Geek Mardi Gras.

Woohoo - I am counting the days!

I am definately up for a forum lunch. Just let me know when and where! I think Sat/Sun are packed with things for us, so I second Sista Sola's suggestion Friday or Monday.

    :)

Hey - so where is everyone staying? I think I am going to be at the Marriott.

I will have my Flame Handmaiden there...hopefully my Jedi will be complete by then too. I'm trying to decide if I want to make a more accurate Sleepless Knight (and one that fits) in time for D*C but I haven't figured it out yet. I'm also thinking of starting on Bespin Leia but between getting the Jedi together and possibly the Sleepless Knight again, not sure if I'll have the time and money.
