We all know about the Dark Sided Force Alchemy, but is there a Light Sided version? Have Jedi ever transmuted animals or things into something better, something purer using the Light Side?

Shaping life to suit one's needs is inherently dark side. Remember, light is balance, order- dark is chaos.

Including inanimated objects, that'd be Dark Sided?

Not necessarily, and the Force-based modification to power cells required to make lightsabers work (as shown in I, Jedi) seems to be the sort of process that could be called Light Side Alchemy.

We've read instances of pregnancy acceleration, haven't we? That's alchemal meddling. So is anyone who tampers with floral produce.

I guess some animals are natural alchemists since there are quite a few that can delay the implantation of a zygote on to the uterus.

The Chu-Gon Dar cubes were devices infused by force power, that could change physical properties of objects.

Exar Kuns master Vodo Bas used a walking stick embued with the force to duel lightsabers. Of course that didn't last very long during his last duel. But it did work.

"The Dark Side is the pathway to many abilities some would consider unnatural".

I would consider any perversions of nature to be clearly of the darkside, and thus a light side alchemy would seem a little contradictory.

Seems like another lost ability by the time of the movies.

The bones of Moses are said to be able to turn lead into a thicker kind of lead.

Pre-Jedi (Chatos Academy IIRC) used alchemically enhanced swords.

First law of Alchemy, according to Full Metal Alchemist:

To obtain, something must be lost. That is the first law of Equivalent Exchange

Let me tell you a little bed-time story. About the Smurfs.

Once upon a time, Mother Nature twisted her ankle. Unable to continue her function as guardian of the forest, she temporarily bestowed her wand to a Smurfling named Sassy Smurf while she recovered. Despite the objections of her other Smurfling friends, Sassy Smurf began to implement changes to the animals in the enchanted forest. She turned a deer's antlers into bouqets of flowers @};-, a skunk's nauseating odour into perfume, and a rabbit's brownish colours into bright and dazzling rainbows. Then a ravenous wolf came to terrorize the forest. The deer could not fight back with its flower-antlers, the skunk could not defend itself with its perfume, and the rabbit could not camouflage itself with its rainbow fur. Luckily, Mother Nature came back to the enchanted forest and restored everything to normal, and the humbled Sassy Smurf learned a valuable lesson.

It is wrong to disrupt the balance of nature

Does this mean the Smurfs are pygmy Chiss? Or the more humanoid cousins of Squibs?

You see, SSM12? This is what happens when you bring in completly irrelevant information from an anime into a Star Wars discussion.

Smurphyness aside, I'd think that alchemy can be used without any overly bad side effects in some cases. Infusing blades, powercelss, or other objects with the Force (however that works) isn't hurting anyone. However, using the Force to reshape life itself is certainly a corruption. So: inanimate = good, animate=bad.

Clearly, I was implying that Smurfs are a cross-breeding between Chiss and the Squibs. Did you even read my post?! :D

Seriously, though. Don't go smurging around, smurfing your smurfy little smurf into Mother Nature's smurf, or you're going to get your smurf smurfed. Don't smurf I didn't smurf you.
