Which do you find easier to play when lightsabering in a game, PC keyboard controls or console pads? Myself, I've only played Jedi Outcast on the PC, so I have instant Force buttons and weapons at a touch. I can't imagine what it'd be like, having to cycle through all your Force selections.

What's your preference? Do you find console controllers limiting, or enough buttons for the job?

haven't played obi-wan, my preference though is mouse and keyboard.

I remember a game out ages ago called die by the sword (which rocked!) and you used the number pad for different strikes, and another load for blocks.

i loved that game cos you could hack your opponent apart

In any game where you have to pick a button really fast, the fewer you have to choose from, the better.

    Controller all the way.

    Mouse and Keyboard.

I can map my controls anyway i want them, and with the mouse quick turns and spins while flipping is as easy as moving your hand. Also using the WASD controls instead of the arrows its a lot more comfortable.

Well, there are advantages and disadvantages for both...so lets make a list and see where that goes...but, then again, like everything in life it all comes down to point-of-view and the nessesities of the moment, or just personal taste...

    CONSOLE PAD

Like stated above, the console pad's main advantage can be the lack of actuall presentable options avilable for your use: It's simpler and all in one place at the very moment and dosen't have all that non-sence regarding memorizing enire stings of key letters. In some cases gamers can also claim that it feels more 'natural' to blast enemies from a console than a keyboard...but that is all just point-of-view and opinion. Other advantages of the console are that you have that whole rapid twin analog thing and also that most games uses duel key combos (ex: X + Y in RotS for X-box does "grab") that some people can say are fun. You also have the "trigger" keys in the back that some will argue are more "natural" for shooting games...

Disadvantages are that the controller just lacks the whole premise for large sets of variety. as stated by Jedi_Matt, you don't have the ability to do tones of different things with the console pad. Also, as stated by --, in some games that have lots of abilities, the console lacks all the short-cut keys that one would like...

    THE KEYBOARD

Now the advantages of the Keyboard are quite straight forward. You have maultiple keys or many things and some things like the WASD control my be more accurate than the analog. You also have the ability to do MAJOR customization of what each key does or where that button that does this is located on the keyboard since there are so many unused keys in any standard game. For example: You can put the fast keys for doing common actions near the movement key or near other common selections and so on.

You also have the mouse! This can be used for for many things and also makes selection far easier and less complicated. (a good example for this is KotOR)

The disadvatages of the keyboard include the fact that you can not grip it like a remote or jerk it around to replicate the action (some like to do that you know.) Another disadvantage is that the mouse/keyboard combo may be a bit too slow acting for heavy combat. [I've died a few times in games when my mouse has run out of room to move or isn't fast enough...]

So there is my ideas on the issue...but as I've stated above, it's all a matter of taste and the needs of the game...

It depends. The JK series is much better with a mouse & keyboard. Other games like ROTS, Obi-Wan, and Jedi Power Battles, would be almost unplayable w/o a controller.
