Lip ring?

I've seen a lip ring, like on Prince from Lexx.... where it is positioned vertically on the bottom lip (so if you looked at someone straight on, it'd look like this | )

Does anyone know where to get these? are there any where you don't have to pierce your lip?

You should be able to pierce the skin below the lip, but there would still be part of the ring in the inside of your mouth.

My brother has the type of piercing that you're talking about.

I don't see how it would be done without actually piercing your lip, but maybe someone else knows more about this?

I've never liked that look. I think it looks like (especially if you don't wear a ring but a stud) you have a big old mole growing on your chin or something.

Edit: Blue, I'm sorry, but one is allowed to not like lip rings and still not be a dork. That is totally uncalled for.

I'm not talking about the ones with the ball (the barbell that has a ball on each side of your "labret").. I'm talking about a vertical ring-like uh, ring that hugs your bottom lip.

I was thinking they'd have some sort of clip on one.. damn

 

Could we please not resort to calling each other names?

I have no idea how you could get a 'fake' lip ring. If you actually wanted to get it pierced, I'm sure you can go to virtually any tatoo/body-piercing place and get it done.

However, IMHO, lip rings look really bad. Only because the tissues of the lips are so sensitive, that they never get used to the ring being there and are perpetually swollen. Look at anybody with a lip ring, they look like they got punched in the mouth. (They probably did!)

I've seen li'l middle school kids put li'l fake hoops from who knows where around their bottom lips- it just pinches or something- it's not really meant to be worn like that but I've seen people do it . . .

It's just with like hoops that go on key chains or earrings that are thin enough to bend or something . . .

 

again, I would not get it pierced.

I just wanted something that would hug the lip and clip on or something.. it seems like a pretty simple idea lol.

The only reason I wanted it was cuz it was the only thing that I thought looked cool for a guy piercing... it isn't exactly trendy neither. I'm not one for doing what everyone else does. I refuse to do the gay little blonde hair dye thing the tounge pierce thing.

If a fake ring is harmful (which I don't know if it is?) I won't even bother.

 

The fake doesn't seem to be harmful. It is the actualy piercing that can be a problem. The only damage I imagine the ring would give is it hitting your front teeth all the time. Kind of how tongue studs are bad.

Hmm, the thing with piercing your upper body (let's not venture anywhere else) is that some people automatically put a label on you. Our society can be cruel, yes.

Granted, I dislike the whole idea of lip-rings, but that's not for me to say.

I agree....that is why I had my navel pierced. No one sees it unless I want them to.

I have a lip ring, actually I have 2. One in the centre of my bottom lip, and one in the corner of my mouth, I did them both myself- but I wouldn't recommend that.
You can get fake ones, but they are quite uncomfortable.

To whoever said that a lip-piercing makes your lip look swollen all the time - it might when you first get it done, but that goes away.
