This really is one of the funniest shows going, at the moment. I don't get to watch it anywhere near as much as i should.

Living here in America Ive never seen or heard of this show before but from what Ive been checking out on the links provided it looks good. Kind of reminds me of Blue Collar TV except, you know....funny.

Over the course of season 6, Bubbles decides to open a legitimate business doing what he loves best?taking care of cats. This would not be complete without an impressive feline dream vacation area and theme park called ?Kittyland?. Julian attempts to get into the real estate business; Ricky?s ability to be a good father is challenged by a chicken; Randy and Mr. Lahey re-negotiate their relationship; Cory and Trevor become entrepreneurs; Ray gets kicked out of the park for living in the cab of his old rig and throwing ?piss jugs? out the window; and J-Roc is about to become a father thanks to two hot baby-mamas.

Movie? What Movie?

 

FYI, the movie is coming out October 6th, but will be premiering at the Atlantic Film Festival in Halifax, NS from September 14-23.

 

Well, I have to see it, if only to buy locally...

 

Well, i finally broke down and actually picked up all of the DVDs from Season 1 to Season 5 (including the Christmas Special!). I can now say that i've watched every single episode of the show. Good gosh is this good stuff. Funny as all get out (there's at least 5 things in every episode that make me LAUGH OUTLOUD), but the most surprising thing is how emotionally touching the show can be. I mean, who knew that you could ever actually feel your heart strings pulled by a male prostitute who's nom-de-plume is SMOKEY?

Showcase has been replaying Season 6 on wednesday nights. I managed to miss the premiere (though i'd sure love to see just how Corey and Trevor managed to start a convenience store in a shed! And how Bubbles got the COOLEST HOUSE EVER!), but i got to see the next two episodes (The Cheeseburger Picnic and the one about the chicken). I also caught the ep where Sam Losco comes back and kidnaps Randy. That last one was funny, but the other two didn't seem to be AS good as previous seasons had been.


I think TPB may suffer from a form of Star Trek movieitis (ie The odd number seasons are superior to the even number).

I'll still be there opening night for the movie.

Also, it has been officially confirmed that the movie is separate from the TV show, and focuses on Julian & Ricky moving to the trailer park for the first time and meeting Bubbles. That really sucks for those of us who have been watching the show for 6+ years now, but I guess they had to make it independent of the show in order for a studio to release it. Ah well.

And finally, they are filming season 7 as we speak, but it is rumoured to be the final season

 

I love this show. But sadly I always seem to miss it. What nights is it on, so I can set the TV to record it?

While it is disappointing, it doesn't surprise me that Season 7 could be the last. Alot of fans seem to feel as if the quality of the show has been sliding since Season 4.

I've only managed to see 3 episodes of Season 6 so far, and while I do agree that it's not AS good as it has been, I still think it's one of the funnier things going right now. The Mr. Lahey's infatuation with Julian and his sexy black t-shirt is a pretty funny bit!

Pied: I'm sorry, i'm not even sure what channel it's on in the US! I tried looking around a bit, but couldn't find anything. I'm sorry!

Movie opens today, yahoo!

And I also saw the soundtrack today. It has Liquor & Whores by Bubbles on it

 

According to a review in today's paper, Ricky is in a ball hockey league in prison, and fights early release so that he can participate in the playoffs.

That's a true Canadian.

 

Saw it last night - great movie! And the best part? It isn't in some alternate universe like all the synopsis' claim it is (saying that Ricky & Julian meet Bubbles for the first time when they move into the trailer park after getting out of jail). I dunno where that came from, but the movie clearly takes place after Season 6. And it is funny as hell! They say things in this movie that I'd never heard in a theatre before. Rated 14A in Canada, and that is VERY surprising with all the language and nudity.

 

I knew I saw her somewhere before - Julian's new girl in the movie (Wanda) was in an episode of Smallville. She played a chick that hypnotised Clark into doing stuff for her.

Saw it and it was funny as hell. So many great parts.

 

I am praying that this flick stays in theatres till the weekend following next. I won't have a free weekend until then.

On it's opening weekend, TPB made $1.2 million to finish 12th overall. Not bad considering it only opened in 181 theatres. It made an average of $6629 per theatre. The only movie that made more per screen was the #1 movie The Departed. It made an average of $8911 in 3017 theatres.


Pretty damn good for a little cult movie from the Maritimes!
