    Lonely Farmer

The aging form of Owen Lars walked out into the mild Tatooine sunset. The suns were beautiful. A garden of every color he could possibly imagine. His gaze fell to the four black stones in the sand. In decades passed he would lay by the stones, envisioning the arms of his mother around him. So much loss, so much...anguish permeated this place. Yet Owen never quit, never ran away. He would never understand why.

He stood for moment, letting the waning rays of the suns wash over him. Moving forward, he moved his hand over the cool surface of the stone. He could barely remember the woman. The love of being in her arms and the smile that could warm the most frigid night.

Owen slowly lowered himself to the ground. He closed his eyes and imagined those arms and that smile. The bitter memories that filled his life entered his mind. Over the years, he?d come to expect to lose those he loved the most. He wondered how long before a new stone would weigh him down...

The whining a speeder shook Owen from his reverie. The speeder stopped and a strange character clambered out. The stranger wore a brown robe with the hood pulled up, and he seemed to be carrying...a bundle of some sort. The stranger headed toward the Lars farm; Owen wearily went to his feet, and moved to meet the stranger and his destiny.
