This Stormtrooper intends to cross the Nullabor

I saw this on the news this evening.

20 year old Jacob is raising money for the Starlight Foundation by walking from Perth to Sydney in a Stormtrooper suit.

He is apparently a member of the 501st.

His journey will take until December to complete.

I heard about this on the ForceCast the other week. I hope he goes well and arrives safely.

He'd better have a stack of cooling systems in the helmet otherwise he'll cark it of heat exhaustion before he gets halfway across - unless he plans to do with the helmet off.

The only problem with stunts like this is next you'll have someone try to swim the English channel in a Stormtrooper suit, or climb Everest with one on and sooner which means sooner or later someone's gonna get injured or killed as everyone tries to outdo everyone else.

 

Here's an update for those that are interested. He had arrived in Melbourne and was present at the Armageddon Expo '11.

Sounds like he might make it to Sydney before December given his current progress.

 

He made it to Melbourne already? I thought he would have been lost somewhere in South Australia coz he seemed to take forever to get to the WA/SA border...

Never-the-less he is doing a fantastic effort!
