    Some of us SW fans are getting together in Portland, OR for the ROTS premiere. It's been suggested that we come to the opener dressed up "Star Wars" style.

    I would like to wear the "look" of Luke Skywalker as he appeared in ROTJ (you know, when he entered Jabba's palace and then removed his hood...). I really don't want to go "all out" and spend hundreds of dollars for something that I'm just wearing for the movie showing. However, I would like to come as close as I can--staying within a certain budget--to duplicating Luke's Jedi robe, black outfit, and possibly, his lightsaber. I'm really not into making my own stuff; I would prefer to buy something already made (running out of time with May quickly approaching...).

    Any help you could send my way would be greatly appreciated.

    Ep3---yeah, it's going to be that good...:cool::eek:=D=

    Since the costume you're looking for is not produced by a licensed company, you could always ask a friend who knows how to sew to make it for you. The costume is pretty basic. I helped a friend make one a few months back. Get some good reference pics..there's a few in the Magic of Myth book, probably some here on TFN in the media section, or you could always Google for images. We took commercially available patterns and modified them slightly to get the look we wanted. My friend chose her fabrics and we got to work. I think we put the costume together in about a day all said and done.

    Machined Luke lightsabers can easily be found for around $100 on Ebay, other prop sites, ect.

    As for the vest and robe, they arnt complex at all, and if you have any experience sewing you shouldn't have a problem.

    Check out this site for any other info.

    Well, if you are looking for a quick ROTJ Luke look, then just do what I did.
    - Black Mock Turtleneck Long Sleeves Black T-Shirt
    - Plain Black Pants or Matte Tights
    - High Cut Riding/Combat/Biking Boots (or get a Black Dress Shoes and make the Leg Wrap to imitate the look of a Riding Boots)
    - Black Belt

    Cloak, can get one of those Commercial Pattern for Cloak and make it yourself or ask a friend/relative that can sew to do it. Or do a Full-circle cloak if you can find heavy Black Fabric that is wide enough (almost your height).

    The Vest, can play cheat and do Tabbards instead since lots of things is gonna be hidden by your cloak. Or get a commercial pattern for a vest/Gi for it.

    Can't afford or don't see a need to get the commercial pattern? Get a Black Shirt or T-Shirt and start undoing seams and cutting to create the vest. ;)
