    Mwahaha!

I think I know what my project after the Rainbow Dress is! Heehee. *rubs hands*

It's almost perfect, folks...Simplicity does good movie reproductions and they go on sale for $.99 often enough to keep me happy. All it'd need is to be decorated the right way, and the cape. Looks to me that you *might* be able to modify some of the rest of the pattern for that. The sleeves might need fixing, but not much from the looks of it.

Just be warned though, Simplicity's pattern sizes have been running large recently, at least with the Arwen-like LOTR pattern. I know someone who would need a size 10 according to the pattern size, but made one it a six 6, and it fits her just fine. While that might not hold true for this one, I'd still check the finished measurements before picking a size.

I am *always* the largest size, that's actually sort of comforting to hear.

My sister wants an Arwen-esque dress...though I think if she wants it in time for the Rennaisance Festival, she'll have to have my mom do it.

Anyway, I looked at the patern again, and the filmy drape for view B looks like it could modify to a cape nicely.

Ok, I just got a sewing machine and I wanted to do those LOTR patterns. And I wanna do the pattern I am talking about in here. I think it looks very good, it seems to have most of the design self-explanitory!

All we have is JoAnn and Field's...but hey, I'm patient. Not to mention poor. XD But I *do* have a job now, so we'll see how much the rainbow dress runs me. I hope to come in under fifty dollars by using dye left over from my Girl Scout years...but cloth is pricey sometimes and I'm an amateur.

As one of the many self-proclaimed picnic dress obsessed gals around here, I gotta say that pattern is neat. It would require quite a few modifications to make it an accurate reproduction though. Personally, I think I'll stick to the patterns I have already modified. :)

Oh moy, moy! I luv you Simplicity! :D

I couldn't agree more; between Simplicity & McCall's, Simplicity produces better movies costume replica/ripoff.

And the local Spotlight here is having the Simplicity at 1/2 price or buy 1-2 get 1 Free every 2-4 months. Hope the promo last till early next year cause the latest patterns will only be available later this year or next year (we follow the Australian Stock).

Oh, NO! More patterns to cram into my already overstuffed sewing room!

Good thing I pass by Hancock's on my way home from work... wheeeeeeeeeee.

StormtrooperPrincess I am SO glad you mentioned that about Simplicity running large lately -- I was thinking I had just started misjudging seam allowances or something. ;)

Oh these are great! I just finished my jedi robe, and I had no idea how to make the rest of the outfit. I even bought some awesome off white fabric at Walmart from the $1/yard rack, perfect for the shirt and tabard. And that yellow dress is sooo pretty!

    Woohoo!

I have found a "NICE" replica of Padme's senate dress, as you can see it needs ALOT of work.

Simplicity>Design Search>9929>Upper Right Hand Corner Dress.

As u see, if you wish to spend time on it, there are ways you "CAN" create th senate dress outta this one.....

I am now trying to find the dress worn as a sterage passenger on their way to Naboo.

    Hmm, Rubies as usual. [face_plain]

But I'll really want to examine the Padme Cape and Belt-Pouches set to see how it's shaped/made repectively (to polished up my current ones) and get the Pistols (another paint job I see coming *roll eyes* ). Hope I'll get my change this Oct. *roll eyes*

Ok, well this is somthing I might do and I have begun to work on it......

I was searching on Butterick and I have decided to make Padme's wedding dress.

I have found a wonderful picture of it in the paper doll book and I have been using it as my base.

I have not found yet the pretty coat and vail but I may have found a nice replica of the under dress...

    http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/butterick/shop.cgi?s.item.6387=x&TI=10090&pageNum=6&M=&UK=10994562

It needs to be V-cut. This was a pattern I saw that could be the coat. Needs a-LOT of alters to it....

    http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/butterick/shop.cgi?s.item.5885=x&TI='5885'&pageNum=1&M=&UK=10994562

This one here the white cape, needs sleves! I could sew it toegether to make sleves...but here..

The Veil design seems to be typical Bridal Veil from the early to mid 1900s.

Hmmmmmm, well, I already checked David's Bridal.

But I think the bride dress would look absolutly wondeful!

    Perfect for Coventions and Weddings.
If anyone likes, or has not thought of doing the Senate Dress, I have a pattern posted. Anyone taken intrest in the Bridal gown, I have the dress, the shoes, and maybe the cape posted if u wish to see it.

Now I'm in a quandary. My mother suggested making the rainbow dress for homecoming and/or Junior-Senior, but in order to make it to pass our rather strict dress code it'd need quite a bit of modifying. Not to mention I would feel very, very naked in a backless halter top. (But that's just me. I'm all about covering up.)

But NOW, there's a pattern that wouldn't need much altering and it would be dress code in the first place, no fancy-dancy stuff. Plus this gorgeous McCall's pattern I found...*sigh* What would you-all recommend?

I'm thinking try the picnic dress first since now there's a semi-pattern, and also it wouldn't involve a custom dye job.
Dye + Me equals a dyed Kate and fabric the same color as it started.

    Help, anyone?

    Kate

    JEDI OBI -

This Saturday my fiance and I are going up with our Wedding designer to pick out fabrics for the Padme Wedding dress. We've had a heck of a time finding decent pics as you have. The desinger thinks she could do it, but any more info you have or pictures you have would definately help out.

Byy getting rid of the square neckline, I can make the dress look exactly like in the movie....

I now am searching for the Blue Dress. But i cannot find decent pictures.
