If it does happen it likely wouldn't be for a few more years as Gray is busy with High Republic content now. Not sure if I agree with Alex though as I am not sure a sequel would be based around the ST as that would make Thane and Cienna thirty years older. If it does happen I think it should take place in the few years following the Battle of Jakku. Don't really think their stories need to be dragged out to when they are in their 50's. Definitely good news though that it appears all parties are open to having a sequel happen.
I could see it going either way, depending on whether it's a direct sequel or a similar story in the sequel era, presumably also featuring the original cast.
It should pick up around where they left it off. There was a enough of a cliffhanger feel to it that they wouldn't need to push the story far forward. I would like more stories to fill in the gaps between the 2 trilogies. This story line would be perfect for that.
Considering I've written one fanfic set after sometime after Jakku that reunited Thane, Ciena, Nash and Kendy, to get an official story would be awesome!
Agree, the closer to the end of the war, IMO, the better - with new info from the end of Victory's Price, Ciena's imprisonment being long seems unlikely, so there is a great chance to show her and Thane during the early post-Jakku era also a great chance to finally show the New Separatist Union that can happen to be the greatest threat to the NR in this period.
Lost Stars followed the characters over a significant period of time. So, I’d enjoy a novel that follows Thane and Ciena from where Lost Stars left off through to the ST era. There’s plenty of scope for both characters to develop as they age.
If they do this I hope they don't feel compelled to force the characters through known events again. The weakest parts of Lost Stars was finding excuses for the characters to always be just off camera from the films; particularly the it was handled with Ciena. I'd rather they let the characters and stories flow more naturally this time.
Nah they should have them get through lots of known events and some unknowns in between. The characters can't make out all the time. We need some story in between! So what events may befit them? They need to check of Baatu, the Halcyon Starcruiser, etc. after all!
Hmmm....I know the first novel covered a pretty big period of time itself, but going all the way from Jakku to the ST seems even longer, though I suppose a lot can be covered with a timeskip...makes me wonder if we might get a trilogy, with the second more Jakku to Mando, and the third ST? Well, in any case when I picture Ciena and Thane in the ST, I can't help but think of something similar to Battlefront 2: Them older with a kid or kids, probably in civilian piloting, and getting caught up in the conflict while running into an old friend turned First Order Fanatic (Nash Windrider in this case). Which is funny, cause I don't think the two groups of characters are that similar otherwise. One thing I really wonder about is what will happen with Kendy. I found her to be a surprise favorite of mine, though she did feel kind of oddly left out of the Nash-Cienna-Thane drama (other than being someone for Thane to talk to about it and know what he is talking about) despite also being a classmate of the rest. I also wonder how the first-wavers and their "loyalty beyond any shade of reason" attitude are going to handle the transition to New Republic. Might they be imperial holdouts? Should be interesting to see in either case.
