Loverboy or Foreigner which rock band is worse?

I say Loverboy at least Foreigner had 4 or 5 decent songs.

 

Loverboy had a few good ones too. Plus Workin for the Weekend counts for 3 songs.

 

I'm still trying to block out the 1980's.

 

Foreigner is a pretty ok band. Loverboy is not.

Tough call. I'd murder each of them quite differently, though.

 

I think they're the same group personally..

 

You can't even compare the two as they are completely different genres of music. And Foreigner had alot more than 4 or 5 good songs.

Did Loverboy do anything else besides Workin for the Weekend?

Loverboy was already old when I was young, but I do remember doing aerobics to Foreigner in my grade school. Loverboy is definitely from the chest hair and gold chain days, so he's gotta be worse.

 

Loverboy was a quinessential one-hit wonder (OK, maybe two hits, but still), while Foreigner actually was pretty good for a few years. The two shouldn't even be compared.

And loverboy had 2 red leather pants wearin' hits, Workin' for the Weekend and The Kid Is Hot Tonight.

 

Did Loverboy NEED to do anything besides "Workin' For the Weekend"?

Neither of them could hold a candle to the J Geils Band. Centerfold, man. Centerfold!

Although, Foreigner?s I?ve Been Waiting For a Girl Like You was the song that played when I first danced with a girl, in the fifth grade.

Now I can?t decide.

 

Centerfold rules!

Why? Because when sung at karaoke, you can replace "My angel" with "[insert random friend's name]'s mom' before the words "is a centerfold". Drunk hillarity is sure to ensue.

 

But Loverboy did Notorious. Which, in the late 80's was a rockin' dance song.

And I actually like Foreigner, 4, was a great album

 

Did I say it wasn't? I was only replying to the previous poster who had mentioned the song.

And Kate, the fact that you can name a Loverboy song from the late eighties scares me beyond words.

"I've been waiting for a girl like you" is one of Foreigner's worst songs, IMO.

Little Foreigner fact - the song "Double Vision" was written after a NY Rangers game in which the goalie, John Davidson was pulled after being hit in the head with a puck. The announcer said over the loud speaker that Davidson wouldn't be returning to the game because he had double vision.

 

I'd like to point out that 'Kid Is Hot tonight' has been playing oveer and over in my head all day, not to mention an image of tight red leather pants. Thanks to all of you. When I invariably hurl myself from my 4th floor office window in the next hour or so, you will all be to blame.
