LSU women's basketball coach Pokey Chapman resigns unexpectedly after 3 seasons

90-14 as a head coach, 15-5 as acting head coach, 2 Final Fours, and a sudden resignation. And now apparently theres some talk (from university officials, supposedly) that it was because of 'inappropriate contact' with her players.

No idea what to make of all this yet, other than its very surprising. She has said since that she will not coach the team through the tournament.

 

I was shocked when I heard this, I doubt they will release any details of the situation.

 

More than 'sexual contact with a former player', probably not. And frankly, I hope not, because thats more than enough information as it is.

 

It will also add to the stigma that all female athletes are lesbians, which is one of the most annoying aspects about sports to me, particularly when it comes to hoops.

 

Unfortunately, you're right, this won't help that stereotype at all.
