Luke's ROTJ Lightsaber Hilt

For those who have seen or own a Luke Skywalker ROTJ lightsaber movie prop replica notice that the hilt is not entirely accurate to the one on the screen. If you observe the hilt closely, you will see where the neck of the saber is painted gold, while the one on the screen looks dull, almost greyish. I did notice a little gold on the hilt on the ROTJ DVD cover but it was very dark, not as bright as the one on the prop replica.

 

Hmm, not sure. I'm not an expert on replicas.

 

The replica is a copy of the hero prop, used for close-ups. The stunt saber with less detail may not have the gold part painted.

Incidentally, it's my favourite hilt of the whole Saga so far.

 

I want a Luke Skywalker lightsaber replica sooooo bad. It is without a doubt my favorite hilt out of all of them.

 

Considering it's virtually the same thing as the Obi-Wan ANH hilt...I'd say Vader's hilt is my favorite. Beautiful design.

 

I like Ben's in ANH and Luke's in ESB.

 

Luke's Jedi hilt was always my favorite. I just got an unauthorized replica of it. It's not perfect, but it's damn good.

 

Wasn't Ben's ANH stunt hilt used as Luke's stunt hilt in ROTJ? That could probably account for some of it. Also, the only part where it's actually visible as having different colors is in the throne room, which is pretty dark anyway. If you look at the saber when Vader's holding it on Endor, it's the same as the replicas.
