CHICAGO (CNN) -- Macaulay Culkin, the most famous and richest child star ever was found dead Thursday in an apartment.

The cause of death was unconfirmed, although Chicago fire officials told Reuters that Macauley died of a drug overdose.

The medical examiner said Friday an autopsy had been completed on Culkin's body, but it would be "several weeks" before a cause of death would be announced.
