Mace's replacement in Shatterpoint

Who would you replace Mace with in Shatterpoint?

I think the only Jedi that could do the job is Yoda.

I think yeah, Yoda and Mace were the only two who could have done the mission. Possible alternatives who sprung to mind - Agen, Kit - would probably be able to handle the combat side (well, at least the convential side of it, but neither would last long against Vastor, or the jungle.

I think Eeth Koth could have done good too, but is he alive during that time?

 

No he died when the gunship blew up in AOTC.

 

Still though. If he was alive, then he'd do a good job.

After Yoda and Mace he is probably the strongest on the council. I would have loved to have seen Kar Vastor trying to play "Jungle Rules" with him.

 

yoda might have done well too. but remember mace's bilities to make things crash ( ), and his muscle strength... yoda would hav had to use his force all the time instead.

Yea I'd go with Plo Koon, or maybe Agen Kolar. Joclad Danva would've done well if he was still alive.

 

Even Piell's a fighter too. Though I doubt if he could go up against Kar Vastor.

Phow Ji wouldn't stand a chance against Mace Windu.

 

Depends if it were Force or no Force. If he had used the Force against Phow Ji, Danva would have pwned him.

I think Arden Lyn might be able to give Windu a run for his money, but she'd have to be on tip top form. No room for mistakes against a master of Vaapad.

 

About the Kar Vastor fan art. I came up with nothing in the fan art forum here. One thread that consisted of someone asking for art and no replies.

 

I found that too. Perhaps in some obscure DeviantArt or Elfwood user gallery resides a pic of the enigmatic Vastor, other than that no luck.

 

The replacement wouldn't have been so cocky, arrogant, snide and overconfident as how Windu was written cover to cover in Shatterpoint. It's not the new character proposed, it's how it's done.

 

You'd be cocky too if you were the second most powerful Jedi, master of Vaapad, and 182 cm of pure muscle.

 

From what I understand from reading Shatterpoint, Mace is a very powerful fighter and creator of Vaapad, but he would get/almost got owned by Depa using Vaapad. It said somewhere that she mastered it to a level greater than his ability. As it stood, Mace got beat up pretty bad against Vastor in their fight. Who knows how Yoda would do...

 

as said; yoda would not have any muscle strength he could use. but he might have had some wiser tactics, who knows...

 

He'd just use the Force to wrap up Vastor with brassvine thorns.

 

Yoda would have been a really bad idea... Can you imagine Yoda challening Kar Vastor to a hand-to-hand duel?? That was Mace's strategy, for fighting him in armed combat would have been impossible while surrounded by Kar's cronies. I just can't see Yoda on that mission... I doubt Nick would have helped him, and Yoda would have had no idea what was going on on that place. Mace was the best Jedi to accomplish that mission, and he could have been the only Jedi able to defeat Depa Billaba (actually, he still gets beaten down but is able to think on his feet). Plo Koon is the only other guy I can think of who would have had a chance, but I don't know if he would have thought as intuitively as Mace. Seeing as how Kar Vastor was more powerful than Mace (but definetly not smarter), I don't know how much of a chance Plo would have. Mace won because of his resourcefulness and intelligence, and I'm not sure Plo could have thought as creatively. Still, Plo might have had a chance. Obi-Wan... hmm... possibly. Anakin would have done something stupid and lost the mission.

 

as i said, he would have done it with a different strategy from the beginning on. he wouldn't have got into any situations similar to the ones mace experienced, because the whole story would have been different.

 

Well for one thing Yoda and Plo Koon would have done things differently than Mace. Yoda was so strong in the Force and he probably could have pwned Vastor without even touching him. Plo probably wouldn't have taken any crap from the Koruns. His jungle rules might have consisted of "you mess with me you get fryed".

 

Or what about the brute force of Saesee Tinn's Broadsword?
