Which is better? I've played NFL 2k2 last year and it was the bomb! I played Madden 2003 and it was so excellent that I couldn't describe the experience playing it. I like both. But which is better?

I really don't care, I'll buy what ever one the video gaming sights rank higher, and this year it was NCAA 2003.

I find the EA football games vastly superior. Though I really prefer NFL 2k3's Scouting and Draft, Madden's gameplay is far superior. There are a few cool things about NFL 2k3's running game, but the passing game is just IMPOSSIBLE. Madden is much better balanced overall.

I bought both Madden 2002 last year and then NFL 2K2 down the road a few months later. Madden is definately superior as it is a true football simulation while the 2Ks tend to be face paced, arcade oriented. One thing that bogged me about the 2K series is that when on the normal setting, you can score 100 points or more on the computer but once you take it up one difficulty level, it's almost impossible to the beat the computer. One thing to the credit of 2K, is that you MUST learn to pass at the right time, speed, everything or most of the time it will be intercepted.

I got them both for Christmas. I started a franchise on Madden, and love it. I've played 2K3 only a couple times, and I've enjoyed it. But I am unsure of which I like better.

On Madden, I play on the Pro level, and the computer kills me. I put it on Rookie and I kill the computer. I'm used to PS1, and need to get used to the PS2.

I've heard that 2K3's franchise mode is better, with a better offseason deal. I'll have to check it out.

I've only played Madden a little, but this is what I've heard.

If you want the more realistic simulation, then 2K3 is the pick.

If you want a realistic game that's more fun, Madden.

If you want the best, go with NCAA Football 2003.

If you want crap and have an Xbox, get NFL Fever.

I agree. The college atmosphere in NCAA 2003 adds so much to the game, whereas Madden 2003 is a great game, but significantly improved over the 2002 edition. The gameplay engine has been reworked, which is great, but overall, the game is only a bit improved.

As far as NFL2K3 goes, I loved the 2K football series on Dreamcast, but this newest installment (I played on Xbox only, BTW) seemed like a step backwards. I love the visuals, but the gameplay seemed worse than usual. It appears that Sega/VC wanted to appeal to the Sim hardcores that complained Sega makes an arcadey game, but in the process, they've alienated a long-time fan of their series. Also, that damn pass dropping is a real pain.

If you want crap and have an Xbox, get NFL Fever.

    :D

I'd recommend NFL Blitz over Fever, myself.

Quick piece of evidence for NCAA...

My friend has gotten Madden every year since I can remember. He was very psyched about Madden and was surprised when I told him I was getting NCAA this year. I got my NCAA, he got his Madden. Then he came over so we could play some Madden and NCAA. We played NCAA first, switched to Madden long enough to do the mini-games, then went back to NCAA. From then on, every time he came over, he wanted to play NCAA. Finally, he went and got NCAA and is looking to sell Madden, which he never plays.

Just something to consider. Of course, if you don't like the college game, then disregard this. ;)

I agree. NCAA Football 2003 is the best football game ever. It is incredibly deep and the college atmosphere is really well done. What's even better is that when you're sad that your wonderful class is leaving school and going pro, you can export the class to Madden 2003 and then draft them!!!
