This review is something folks should know about.
Those who know me also know that I'm a Fett fan, so here is somewhat of a bad experience folks should know about.
I have purchased some Medicom ESB Fetts and I don't like how the manufacturer is handling their Quality issues.
I read quite often how people complain about cheap action figures and how bad they are painted, well personally I'm quite happy with the cheaper ones AND how those companies address the
issues, but not how this company deals with their rather expensive product. Here is what happened.
Upon opening the box which had already a cut flap even though it was factory sealed the holster fell out. It wasn"t even attached to the figure. You can see a glue spot
but apparently the glue wouldn't hold it in place. Lousy job Medicom! Next up on the right gauntlet the white paint is smeared over it looking like it was appiled to thick and dripped down.
Then a fat big green paint buildup on the chest after most likely a paint touch up with a brush. Incorrectly mounted jet on the backpack.Wrong left shoulder color, but then the real bummer
a stalk that isn"t even straight. The fun part they attached some plastic so it wouldn't bend when placed in the blister. Guess what Medicom, it didn't help because the initial piece is already
formed like a bow!. Confronted with the Quality issues their customer service didn't give a damn. Their response was that the figure is not for sale internationally and I should contact the seller for
a refund or to deal with the issue. Yes folks you read that right. The poor quality is not the problem of Medicom the manufacturer, it is the sellers problem! they basically told me to go F.... myself.
it is my fault that I bought their product! No such thing as, sorry we will learn from, oh, how could this happen, no, only constant repeats of, the item was not intended for international sale!
Now what a great way to stand behind a product! I guess they forget that the same figure could have ended up with a customer in Japan. Would they have treated him the same way?
Hey Disney, how about you rethink issueing them a license? What a joke. What a great company! What a poor way dealing with their poor product that they want top dollars for.
And the other figure didn't look much better. I could go on with other things that are not correct with this figure,(edge lines on the chesta armor, shoulder plates, knee armor, incorrect and too dark green paint) but I'm saving my breath. Look at the pics, check the links or the TDH and the RPF
to double check if you like. Good thing I haven't bought the ROTJ Fett yet or other Medicom figures. Not interested in spending my money on companies who don't give a darn and respond in such unprofessional manner.

    And Medicom latest response:

    Dear Customer,

Although we do not support overseas customers directly, our Product Management Dept. has checked a condition of the item sincerely. However, we are afraid that we are unable to support this issue since we did not release this product to overseas and we do not replace for resale/non-direct items. Please contact the seller for exchange/refund.

Thank you for your kind understanding.

What I say is not meant to be offensive to you or your fandom. It is also not a reflection of me as a collector, nor do I currently own any imported Star Wars figures at the time of this response. Nor do I intend to while I have currently found no reason to own any.

So lets start with the one thing you have not told us: Who sold you the product.

Based on what you are saying, you did not purchase this while you were residing in Japan. Nor did you have any possible friends with a Japanese address purchase it for you. Because if it was the former, the box would have been in nicer condition and you would have the QC issue resolved during your period of stay. And if you had your friend buy one and ship it to you, the box would be in nice condition and he or she could have handled the QC issue for you.

Which brings us back to the question on which online store did you purchase it from? And that answer swings back to what Medicon was saying: Their rights are limited to Japan-based sales, and any second/third-party stores that are allowed to sell import products.

We'll swing back to that point later on. So lets look at the photos.

Photo #1: This is proof that you did not read what was said. Here is a hint: Made in China means that Medicon outsourced production for the sake of making a profit. This is also done with other companies, including both Hasbro and Takara Tomy. Please remember that when I return to this point.

Photo #2A: You are accusing Medicon of not "selling" you a factory sealed product just because there is package-based damage. And do so while showing us what looks to be the original factory tape still sealed on the box. Factory sealed means that the tape is not tampered with the moment the item is both packed and ready to be shipped. Again, this became a major subject when Takara Tomy re-taped all of their "Encore 23" Fortress Maximus because of a QC issue they overlooked.

Photo #2B: As for the damage done to the packaging, that is common. And it is far more common when you deal with import stores that reside outside of Japan, as well as third-party sellers that managed to buy wares from these sellers. I have a history with these types, and it is why I am not buying any import figures from them.

Photo #3: According to The Fwoosh, the gun is correct. I am including a photo they have on their site as a reference.

Photos #4-9: This goes back to the fact your product, like the others, was made in China and not in any factories that they might own in Japan. All they are responsible for is their contractual obligation to pay the factory that makes this figure. And their warning does not say that their product is going to be flawless and free of any hazards.

Now the reply they have given you. Remember how I mentioned that you did not buy this directly, or had a friend from Japan do so? There is a reason for this.

In the case of Medicon, you should notice that their offices are in Japan. And that there are no additional international branches tied to the company. This is because the company only operates in Japan. As well as that if they do operate outside of Japan, their licensing agreement limits all of their sales to this lone marketing region. Which is the very same thing that they told you. With their sole mistake being that they believed you would understand their situation in events like this one.

So again... Not trying to offend you. But your entire "review" is more bashing than fact. Because in the end, Medicon is NOT allowed to sell any products to a buyer that has a shipping address outside of Japan. Which is why they told you to contact the seller that sold you the product. And this is not a sign of them not caring, but rather them operating on the same business practice that other companies do for other products.

Which returns us to the solution at hand: Contact the seller that sold you the product. Because the only way they can refuse to help you resolve this is if they have something that says "All sales are final" anywhere on their store page and/or eBay sales pages. And also... Learn from what happened before importing again.

I don’t have any issues like this on my Mafex Boba Fett, it is about the perfect figure. No issues at all. It’s gorgeous, and not sure why the box is such a big deal. Yes Mafex has had problems in the past but their Boba Fett was top notch almost museum quality
