Since I'm coming up there to play in the Star Wars Trading Card Game Qualifier, the missus wants to come along, but not stick around the events.

She'd like to do a little shopping, and we don't know where any of the major shopping malls are there. If one of you kind souls could pass along the street intersections, we can MapQuest or Expedia them from there.

    Eastland is a mall? I always thought it was a flea-market! :D

Eastland does have real stores, but your best bet for real shopping is to go to Promanade or Woodland Hills. But Eastland isn't just a flea market, they have a bath and body works, FYE, Dillards, and Mervans, along w/ many other collectible stores. By the way, when are they opening the Laser Tag, i already saw the bowling ally and it's really cool.

    Hey RedneckJedi,

I reconmend the Utica Square shops. It's at 21st and Utica. It's a nice outdoor shopping area with unique shops that you won't find at the malls. Plus it's in a beautiful area. Some shops can be a little snooty, but who cares.

Having worked in all the malls in Tulsa (& shopping being one of my favorite hobbies & part of my career, I'm a Make-up Artist/Image Consultant), I would recommend only 2 if you are here for a short amount of time.

Woodland Hills Mall located at 71st & Memorial is our largest mall in the city & offers the widest variety of stores to choose from.

Utica Square located at 21st & Utica is our UPSCALE mall. It does have pricier stores, and even some of those are found at Woodland. This is a great place to shop if your wife likes to explore specialty boutiques & designer brands. To shop here, the weather might be taken into consideration for all the store entrances are located on the outside. It is a sidewalk mall & has quite a few stores.

I personally would never suggest Eastland Mall for a shopping experience to anyone from out of town (or in town for that matter ;/ ) & although Promanade is a very nice mall, all their stores can be found at WHM & w/ many more selections to add to them.

If your wife has any questions or wants to know if we have a certain store she may be looking for, feel free to have her PM me :) Because of my job I have to frequent these stores quite often. I can even tell her about certain salespeople to avoid :D

Just have her go to Penn Square. It's far and away better than anything you'll find in Tulsa. Unless she absolutely must "slum it" at our malls.

    Everyone,
Thanks for the locations! We greatly appreciate it! One of these days, JediOKC will have a LaserQuest bout with your club!

    pinata242,

My wife's priorities are as such:

#1 - Spend as much time with family as possible.
#2 - Spend as much time away from Star Wars as possible.
#3 - When #1 is not possible due to #2, find somewhere as close to #2 that shortens the time #1 is not possible.

She doesn't hate Star Wars, she just isn't a fan in-so-much-as being a member of a club/forum dedicated to it.

I understand, my wife's the same way. I was just kidding anyway. :) Woodland hills is the largest mall with the most selection, but it's also the busiest and is usually a headache if you have any actual agenda. It is good for just shopping.

Promenade is a nice one as well and I prefer it (it's even carpeted for your browsing pleasure!).

Where is the qualifier being held? Then I could point you to the closet mall. That would help satisfy rule #3 ;)

EDIT: Although I was kidding before, I am serious that Penn Square is better than anything here :) I'm originally from Moore so that was my mall of choice. I miss it. I miss the red dirt too.

I agree with you Brent. I too like Penn Square. I really like the sleek new look and modern design that they updated the mall with a couple of years ago.

So, is this qualifier this weekend at Top Deck? What time, do we know? I think it would be kinda interesting to go to. Anyone else planning on going?

EDIT-Okay, after going to Rebelbasers.com I found out that the tourny is on Feb. 8th at 11:00. I think I will go to see what all this is about.

A post-Tulsa-trip Thank You to all the helpful people who gave directions to the malls in the area. Mrs. Jedi spent a good 6 hours at Woodland Hills on Saturday, thankfully not spending too much $$$.

I faired right in the middle at the TCG tournament at Top Deck. Ah well, my JediOKC buddies and I still had a great time, and got to meet some friendly local SW gamers while we were at it. However, I think I have to say that OKC Hooters has it all over the one on Memorial. ;)

    Thanks again guys-n-gals!
