Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew any details about a Mandalorian Funeral? I figured it might have been mentioned in 1 of the books/comics featuring the death of Jaster Mereel or Tobbi Dala. All I've been able to find out so far regarding Mandalorian funerals is that apparently the bond between a mandalorian warrior and his basilisk war droid was so strong that they gave them a full warriors funeral if they were destroyed in battle (implying that there is some sort of ceremony when a warrior dies). The reason I'm asking is my friends are working on a machinima movie and for the opening scene they want a mandalorian funeral. Thanks very much.

That's what I originally assumed, but I wasnt sure if it would have been different since thats how the Jedi funerals are shown in the movies.

    From Insider 86:

"Burial is unusual- Manda'lore and other people of ntional importance are exceptions- because nomads traditionally had no cemetaries. It's also impractical to carry dead bodies with the army when men die in combat. Communities cremate their dead if they can recover the body, scatter the ashes and keep one of the deceased's possessions as a memorial. This is often a whole suit of armour, which is valuable. In cases where the armour can't be recovered or kept, parts such as helmets, gloves or buckles are taken instead. Mando'ade recite the names of dead loved ones and comrades each night as a conscious act of keeping their memories- and so their existence- alive."

In some ways very much like the Jedi, interestingly enough.
