All these stories are either directly, or indirectly, linked to my current, full length, Far Future fic Dark Interventions and have a place in my ever-expanding Mask of the Sith series. I hope everyone enjoys these one posters! :D

Note: I am willing to let people who have thoroughly read through my fics to write in the Mask of the Sith series. You just have to show a good level of knowledge in the series. :D

    MASK OF THE SITH

It makes darkness swell, evil rise and destruction loom ahead.

The artifact of the Sith has many powers. Many of which cannot be accessed by the living alone. Only the dead could ever hope to hold this artifact and bear the consequences that are embedded within it for eternity. Only those who have died and come back to live again can unlock the secrets of the Mask of the Sith?

The shadows of Korriban bind the Mask of the Sith from being used or destroyed. It has been nothing but legend amongst both the Sith and the Jedi for millennia. But to the Living and Unifying Force, it is a reality.

To the living it is a frightful nightmare? but to the dead it is a wondrous dream.

Nothing is known of the creator. Rumors persist that a rogue Sith Lord crafted the Mask and sacrificed himself in order to become one with his artifact. Others state that the Force itself created the Mask using raw Force energy and combining it with a touch of the Dark Side.

Nonetheless, it is a poison that touches the soul and corrupts the mind and heart when it is worn by the dead.

Only the dead can attempt to foil the solid defenses of the ancient Sith ruins on Korriban and hope to find the mask. But if you are dead how can you ever dream to grasp the radiating power of the Mask of the Sith?

You come to learn how to live again?

    ---

Lightsabers clashed against one another. Green and blue flashed brilliantly, basking in the glory that was the duel of the century. Greatness enveloped the blue weapon, while evil wrapped itself around the green blade. Light and dark fought an endless fight, with one trying to prevail over the other. Neither of them knew it was never going to end.

The Skywalkers fought to the death; the brothers of legacy. Once before they had fought together against a fearful enemy, destroying the One Master?s hopes and desires, shattering his will like glass. But the One Master had succeeded in turning the Skywalkers against one another.

One succumbed to the misleading ways of the Dark Side. The other was still faithfully tied to the religion and spirituality that his ancestor once instituted five hundred years earlier at the death of the fabled Palpatine. Together they clashed against each other in a duel of the fates.

But how glorious it was for the Dark Side this day!

The green blade twisted around to knock the weapon of the Good One aside, letting the metallic hilt clatter against the bedrock of the underground chamber. The darkness veiled the Good One?s sight, preventing him from regaining his weapon as quickly as he wished it would be.

But the Dark One saw through the shadow. He saw his opponent with the will of the Dark Side. With his anger and his hatred, he leapt at his good willed brother, screaming an indecipherable cry and swinging his lightsaber to render the Good One dead. He wanted to kill? then the Dark One only realized he needed to kill.

The Dark One swung hard, but somehow the Good One avoided the deadly blow. He was being guided by the once cloudy Living Force. He had reconnected his faithful obedience in the mystical field that binds him, after being severed from it beforehand. He became the Faithful One and was reunited with his weapon through the darkness. The blue blade hissed to life once again and left the Dark One confused, but dazzled by the brilliance of the Living Force. The Faithful One called to the Living Force, and it gave him strength.

With one mighty swing, the Dark One was defeated in a blaze of glory? with his true desire gone unknown?

    ---

I? am dead? but soon? I will live again. I will? journey through the darkness? I will trek through the paths of shadows? I will crush death?s obstacles? I will master this world. Then I will? learn to live again? and conquer? my desires.

What is said? will be done. I have? foreseen it. It is? my destiny. And my destiny? will be the fate? of the Force.

    ---

The Dark One begins to truly suffer. He had been deprived of his desires, his truths and his will

Very good descriptively, and a nice plot beginning although you always have to be wary about opening a fic with scenes that completely leave the reader in the dark--its a good literary device you have to throw a bone or two, even if you a purposefully doing so. But don't worry, you have one or two posts left to do that before people get confused and give up...but then I suppose it would make more sense had I read its companion fic. With that in mind, I give it a solid rating. Very nicely done.

Good post! :D Loved the narrative style you use. This definitely makes me want to read the companion (even though I tend to stay away from fics in the far future.) I'll have to check that out, though. Keep up the good work.

    Suzuki_Akira - It's a vignette, so I don't have to worry about more posts. ;)

A lot of the stuff in the fics I'm writing doesn't make sense without the others, and so it relies on a large number of vignettes, short stories and the string of main 'episodes' that I have in the works (with Dark Interventions as their beginning).

Beleive it or not, this is a more vague, ancient telling of one of the short stories I plan on writing. When it comes around (which will be after I finish the three episodes), the vague names like Dark One and One Master will be replaced by their real ones, as I'm going to present the the events (creation of the artifact, and duel of the Skywalker brothers) discussed here in full detail in an adventure fic. Right now this just serves as a prelude to everything I'm writing. :D

    Thanks for the review. :D

    DCWiz00 - Thanks! :) It's tempting, isn't it? ;)

Hmmm... I think I'll just use this thread to post more one-posters. I don't think that multiple threads just for one post stories are necessary. [face_plain]

The next one will provide insight and background on this mysterious 'One Master'.

My favorite part here is the symbolism. ;) It is a very good introduction to your series.

I have to agree with you on both parts there, Mist. ;) The symbolism, I found was fun to write (sorta reminds me of mythology).

I'm going to post the next story now. :D It's finally done.

Okay, just so people don't get confused, this is prior to the Trade Wars mentioned briefly in Dark Interventions. This showcases the main villian in that war. I'll just say that this is a lead in to a fic that I have planned after I'm done Dark Interventions and its sequels.

    THE NEW ASSEMBLER

??the Republic throve and grew. But as often happens when wealth and power pass beyond the admirable and attain the awesome, then appear those evil ones who have greed to match.? ? From the First Saga, Journal of the Whills

    ---

There is an enemy no one would dare face? an enemy dreaded by those who know of him and his evil intentions to spread chaos across the Galaxy in a time of peace; intentions to revive a powerful and ancient evil. He wanted to begin a new and terrifying war, one that would be the fall of the Force itself, and to disrupt the balance between life? and death.

    ---

Darkness was present near the lair of the One Master. It engulfed his soul and corrupted his mind and heart in their entirety. The good that was once in him had decayed, having been infected with the disease known as the Dark Side, and been left without the guidance of the Living and Unifying Force. With nothing left but darkened intentions of evil, he was left alone in his hive, swaying around in his carefully, articulated web of an abstract and ancient design.

His only friend was death. All others were considered food for his ever empty and aching stomach; or to be use as his pawns of evil. He had spent hundreds of years, alone in his web that floated aimlessly across Dark Space, near the Core of the Galaxy. He felt that it was necessary into order to keep in contact with his many spies that fed him information about the outside. He would feel safer afterwards, knowing the Galaxy was in peace. Knowing that no one could ever oppress him and his future plans for greed.

Dreath Durid?darth loved the concept of death. It pleased him to know not everything that is knowledgeable cannot be obtained by the living. Then what would be the purpose of life, to know what is to come afterwards? He was particularly excited about his death, whether it would come sooner or later. He wanted everything to be a surprise.

Dreath was once a simple drone to his prior symbiotic, the Assembler by the name of Kud?ar Mub?at, a node assigned with nothing more other than to calculate his master?s financial outcomes. His knowledge expanded beyond his job and his master, whom was part of him. He learned about the outside world. He learned about independence. And soon, Dreath learned about the Dark Side. His mind became fixated on gaining power.

When his master perished, Dreath managed to escape on his own, and soon, he too evolved into a deadly Assembler. His spider-like appearance soon developed, giving intelligent beings reason to believe that Dreath was not sentient, until it was too late. He enjoyed bringing death to others, bringing to them the joy and the surprise of life itself. He was grateful for them to experience what he had not yet done.

He had his own drones now, working in conjunction with Dreath?s own tainted soul. He knew that it was inevitable that they would soon discover the Dark Side as he had, and that one of them would try and take reign as the next Assembler. But they would all die trying. He would turn them against one another. They would not conquer him as he did to take control of Kud?ar Mub?at?s reign, because, unlike Mub?at, Dreath also had the Dark Side as his ally. And it was indeed powerful within him. It told him what to do. The somewhat, euphoric aura made Dreath do the things he does, think the thoughts he thinks and what emotions to feel and enjoy. The Dark Side was his master, but Dreath was the One Master of life over death. He was left to fight for control of the realm of life while the Dark Side was left to fight for the right to rule death itself.

And so they both had common enemies? the Jedi Knights and their pitiful Living and Unifying Force.

    Through an electromagnetic impulse,

That was very dark and creepy. (in a good way. ;) )

I like the way Dreath thought of the Hutt. I like the descriptions here even more though. ;)

The idea of the Anzati is very well written too. I loved the last line. :)

Soon, you'll get to understand the meaning of that line. :D

Next story is going to revolve around the childhood of the Skywalker twins mentioned in the first one-poster. It's currently titled "Two Shooting Stars".

    TWO SHOOTING STARS: PART ONE

?Hey Drake! Betcha? can?t do this!?

Little nine-year-old Jenardo Skywalker grabbed a deactivated, golden remote from the pocket of his shrunken Jedi robes, clutching it with his tiny fingers. His blonde hair wavered in the slight breeze that blew over the fields of Naboo, following at the same rhythm with the tall, green grass. His big, blue eyes looked up to his twin brother, Draken Skywalker. Beyond Draken?s flowing, dark hair laid a curious look on his face. ?Yeah, let?s see, Jen.? He said.

?Okay then! Watch this!? Jen said excitedly. He concentrated on the remote in his hands. One by one, his fingers released their tight grip around the sphere. Then, as if it was activated, the remote began to levitate. Jenardo smiled with delight and success.

Draken just dropped his jaws in surprise. ?How did you do that? We never learned that in class yet!? He had a hint of jealously hidden behind his black locks of hair and clean, young skin. He was careful to take control of such a dangerous emotion, remembering his father?s teachings on control.

?Mommy showed me!? Jenardo exclaimed happily. ?Here, I?ll teach how to do it!? The remote flew back into the grubby hands of Draken?s twin with a burst of speed. Jenardo threw the gold sphere to Draken.

The boy caught the object without hesitation, feeling its warm touch on his fingertips. The remote glimmered in the sunlight as the clouds above parted to reveal Naboo?s glowing star. Draken couldn?t help but smile. ?Show me then!? He said impatiently, after waiting a few seconds to examine the remote with curious eyes.

?You have to close your eyes first.? Jenardo instructed. ?Then picture the remote in your head.?

Draken followed along, doing what his brother had told him to do. ?What?s next??

?Don?t talk!? Jenardo said, gasping. ?Or else it won?t work! Now, focus on the remote in your head. Concentrate on making it float? just picture that in your head.?

?You?re starting to sound like father,? Draken joked light heartedly, avoiding the childish word ?daddy?. He wasn?t very fond of his young age. He had limitations; limitations that he was not very fond of.

?I said don?t talk Drake!? Jenardo said, pouting at what might be his brother?s failure.

?Don?t worry, brother. It will work.? He smiled. ?I will make it work.?

And so he did. Drake levitated the golden object, his eyes open now. He was amazed at his success. He had done the feat, all while talking. He assumed this made him a much quicker learner than Jenardo. ?What do you think of that, Jen?? He said, gloating.

Jen frowned, grabbing the remote from midair. ?I?m going back to the house. Mommy might have dinner ready already.? He slipped the remote back into his pocket.

Drake relieved himself of smiling and stood without objection. ?I?m not hungry.? He turned away from Jenardo, arms crossed. ?I?m going to do a little exploring in the forest.? His face swirled around, his eyes meeting with his brother?s, serious and burning with a passion for adventure. ?Want to come? Or are you a wimp??

?Daddy always said never to go past the fields.? Jenardo said, fearful. ?The forest there is evil. He said that there are a lot of bad things in there; monsters and ghosts.? He took a step back in the direction towards the Skywalker?s lakeside cottage. ?I?m too scared. You go alone.? He cried, grimacing.

Draken sneered. ?Fine then; if mother and father ask where I am tell them I went over to Tike?s place.? Draken was referring to his friend, a non-Jedi, whom he had met not too long ago when the Skywalker?s settled on Naboo for vacation. Then, he was off, running towards the dense oak forest in the distance beyond the flowering fields and sweet sights and smells.

Draken never bothered to look back to see his brother?s worried face.
