As far as I know, this is the only action figure of a beast in Star Wars action figure history. Shouldn't it be Geonosian with Massiff? It's really weird how it's titled the way that it is.

Yeah I too think it rather should be Geonosian with Massif.
I mean the Geonosian is articulated while
the Massif is onl a chunk of plastic.

Hasbro probably called it mainly a carded Massif because otherhand toy lists would say Geonosian figure twice.

    No problem to me anyway.

I think it's kind of funny it's like saying the Geonosian is an accessory for the Massiff.

And then later it was Tusken Raider with Massif.

    It bugs me too.

Not quite so much as the Nexu being listed as a Deluxe figure instead of a creature bugs me...or the fact that the Target exclusive Saga Action Fleet are packaged on 3 3/4" style cards which really bugs me...but it does bug me.

It IS weird and you're not the only person to think so. Here's a comical review that details how other fans thought this marketing oddity might have come about:

My only gripe is that a wingless drone Geonosian really shouldn't be wearing a warrior-styled harness. I clipped the shoulder prongs on mine down considerably (wire cutters work well), attached threads with bits of plastic 'ribbon' to the back prong, and wound up with a passable picador Geonosian instead of a warrior. (Good enough at least until Hasbro releases the inevitable orray/picador combo.)

The Massiff itself is actually a decent little accessory, if not worthy of being a figure in and of itself. Like I said, it doesn't move, except for its jaw, which opens and closes like the good little fish/dog thing it is. You can have hours of fun having it gnaw on the skelleton that came with Amanaman.

    LOL [face_laugh]

It is really weird that this figure is the Massiff, with the Geonosian as his accessory, but this is honestly one of my favorite figures. I don't think this has ever been done before.

I think my point is the most realistic one.
    Toylist mostly use the shortnames
of a figure. That would mean lists would have said Geonosian....... figure or something like that.
Would have caused some mix ups
    for store chains or emploees.

Either that or Hasbro wanted to make the figure sound different and new.

Maybe we should ask a Hasbro spokesman at the next Q&A.

Boy, this sure is a picky issue.

There was already a Geo figure so why not it makes it a little more interesting.

The the the Massif privided by Hasbro is a useless chunk of crap, I only bought it for the Geo. As for the Massif with Tusken, I can stand a little shoddy corner cutting by Hasbro, but this is too much. Its the same Massif that came with the Geo, plus the POTJ Sandperson. Im not buying it.

Yup, both are exactly the same molds.

I put my two Massiffs around a Darth Sidious cup to symbolize something or other since they couldn't be seen anyways in the back of my bad-guy section.
