was he a good fighter?.Was he an important figure during his era?.was he stronger than Nomi Sunrider in Battle meditation?. Any answer will help thanks.
He was quite important and a Watchman (I believe) in that era. I'm not sure he was involved in Battle Meditation, as I thought that was primarily Master Thon's "thing." He was quite powerful, though old, by the time he was killed by the war droids.
Master Arca was killed in issue #2 or #3 of Dark Lords of the Sith, during the great Jedi convocation at Mt. Meru on Deneba, thanks to a Krath sneak attack. (He actually did perform Jedi Battle Meditation in the final conflict on Onderon, but I don't recall whether he was an actual master of it or not.) Ultimately, it was the grief caused by his death that pushed Ulic Qel-Droma over the edge enough to ignore the advice of everyone else around him, regarding the decision to inflitrate the Sith ranks from within...which, as most Jedi Masters and Martha Stewart would tell you, ain't necessarily A Good Thing.
Any answer...? Then mine is 42! This is from CUSWE: "Arca Jeth: a humanoid Arkanian, Arca was a Jedi Master from the planet Arkania. He agreed to oversee the planet Onderon, but instead sent Ulic Qel-Droma, Ulic's brother Cay, and Tott Doneeta to the planet. He later assisted them on the planet, and was forced to conceal Freedon Nadd's Sith lore in a tomb on the Dxun Moon. He refused Exar Kun's request to see the Sith artifacts from Freedon Nadd's ship. He later attended the Jedi Assembly on Deneba, and was killed in the battle by one of the Krath war droids. Ten years after the Great Sith War, Arca's spirit appeared to Ulic Qel-Droma on Rhen Var, and urged the distraught man to abandon his plans for suicide and depend on his inner strength to survive."
From POTJ, Master Arca Jeth has the Battle Meditation feat and Inspire +11. Nomi Sunrider has the Battle Meditation, Influence +17, and a skill emphasis on Influence.
i believe the planet Arkania and/or enitre Arkanian race was named after him. Notice the EGA entry on Arkanians indicates Arkania was not the original Arkanian homeworld, nor was Arca born there. It indicates Arca priospected the planet and chose it as a new home for his species (previosuly, it had been a Sith library world). I reckon the planet was named for him and the race for the planet or else the race for him and the planet for the race.
Plus in TOTJ there was a tradition it seemed that Jedi masters made their home on worlds formerly strong with the dark side. Arca used battle mediation to win the battle on Onderon against the Naddists. But Thon was acknowledged to be more skilled in it than Arca. JB
From what I understand, the planet had been designated that for some time prior to that point, unless, as was mentioned above, the people who settled there of Master Arca's race had the honor of re-naming it. Not quite sure if it's ever been "officially" locked in stone regarding who took care of that piece of business.
He was quite important and a Watchman (I believe) in that era. Master Arca was appointed Watchman of the Onderon system as was learned in the first issue of Tales of the Jedi. So you believe correctly. Master Arca was killed in issue #2 or #3 of Dark Lords of the Sith, during the great Jedi convocation at Mt. Meru on Deneba, thanks to a Krath sneak attack. (He actually did perform Jedi Battle Meditation in the final conflict on Onderon, but I don't recall whether he was an actual master of it or not.) Issue 3. Issue 2 featured Kun beginning his search to learn more about the Sith than Master Vodo allowed him to in issue 1 in addition to Ulic and Nomi leading the Republic attack on the Krath. As for whether or not Master Arca was a master of Battle Meditation, you better believe he was. And as for whether or not Arca was better at Battle Meditation than Nomi Sunrider, Nomi was a natural at Battle Meditation. And Thon really began to lead her down the road to eventually becoming a master of it. But it would be under Arca's tutelage that she'd really blossom at using Battle Meditation.
An indirect quote from Dark Lords of the Sith, inregards to Jedi Battle Meditation: Thon was good, Jeth was better. It was Jeth's haunting visage I first spotted in a KOTOR online excerpt that prompted me to get the series.
