Just announced at Star Wars Celebration 2025. The next animated series will be... Maul – Shadow Lord. Premiering 2026.

Ecciyslways wanted Darth Maul show that covers between Clone Wars, Solo and Rebels. We can finally see Draven Vos too hehe. Also sounds like Maul has his own Sith apprentice.

A new animated series MAUL: SHADOW LORD has been announced.

A first trailer was shown and depicts Maul as he navigates life between the events of The Clone Wars and Rebels. The plot seems to focus on Maul training a new padawan after having a vision she can help him seek revenge. The trailer shows Maul fight Marrok who says, “So it’s true. You live.

 

Give us a Vader/Maul fight!

 

Thats will probably be the series finale, before he exile himself to Malachor but thats after Solo and sounds like this is beginning sometime after The Clone Wars.

 

Best news coming from Celebration so far.

Honestly, until they can convince me otherwise, I am done with SW movies after the sequels.

Yeah, I am excited about Mandalorian & Grogu and about the Filoni movie, however these originated from TV shows.

But live action shows and animated shows? Give me dozens, I don't mind. They're all (well almost all) great.

I am extremely excited about this one, as long as Filoni is overseeing it. Which I am sure he is.

 

I think this will probably be after The Bad Batch or it after first two seasons. And we see whats Maul and Dryden Vos relationship like. Sounds like Maul already will deal with the early Inqusitors. I wonder if his apprentice will be a canon version of Darth Talon?

 

I swear to god, if we get Lucas’s treatment adapted indirectly

 

The last shot is of Maul with higher animation like Clone season 7 Siege of Mandalore.

 

Ehh......would have preferred a Luke Animated Series.

Then do a Maul series afterwards.

We need a break from the Dark Times/Imperial Era.

 

Like i said before, Dave Filoni and co not ready to move on from prequel and orginal 6 movies timeline in animation yet.

 

The trailer was incredible and totally sold me. Not my first choice for a new series but I’m definitely excited for it.

Okay, I saw this on the Star Wars website and was instantly hype. Love Maul, so I'm super excited to get a series focused on him.

Though I admit, in my just got up stupor, I at first thought it was a new book, since I was just scrolling to see what info had come from the Mandalorian & Grogu panel.

 

It was really good looking. It wasn’t officially released so I’m not saying anymore other than my impressions.

 

The one shot of Maul looks good. He is dressed in all Black with single lightsaber and will he gave his episode l ship ?

The trailer for MAUL: SHADOW LORD shown at Star Wars Celebration seemingly confirmed that the show will depict the origins of Darth Talon.

 

Seems a bit early to say, but "Talon" is a very Nightbrother name, and that's what her tattoos would be from in this timeline.

 

She is twi'lek who Maul found and trained and had her be like him, like red and black tattoos

 

Always thought Maul was one of the coolest characters, hoping this will be good

 

Sounds like it will be a very dark show

 

I like this because it seems like it will finally tie up the loose thread of Maul’s downfall and exile to Malachor. So I think we’ll see his rise back to power in the underworld and then it will flash forward at some point in the final season and show his downfall. Sort of like what Better Call Saul did so brilliantly.

 

Be intresting how they will deal with 13 years if they do 4-5 seasons. It can work as Solo prequel and Sequel. Maul has two apprentices in the twi'lek and Qira.

 

I think it’s a good bet that a lot of this will deal with the abandoned concepts George had for the ST. Filoni got choked up when he mentioned how it was important for him to carry on George’s vision of Star Wars.

 

Yes we get our Sequel Trilogy treatment with Maul in this show dark times era. I think i read that Filoni and George talked about what Maul would do 1 year after Clone Wars that this show first season will be about. Could we get Darth Talon be in a post ROTJ world ?

Sam Witwer will review and be hands on the entire show. Ideas Sam has had for years will be coming in this show. This will be star Wars Underworld under Maul's eyes and rule.

 

Creators often like to work with the characters they either created themselves or had a large part in developing. The person that developed the original trilogy characters is no longer at Lucasfilm.
