New show to premiere in 2026. - set after the PT, and explores Maul building his criminal empire. - will have a new animation style. - will use some of the concepts and ideas in the original Lucas ST treatments (namely, Maul having a Twilek apprentice). A preview shot can be see at the end of this:
Sounds like it will be higher animation like Siege of Mandalore. Almost movie quality. The Path and Assajj Ventress can show up in this Maul show. The Maul show can show us the Underworld of Star Wars and the Path can be a storytelling piece in this show. The only thing we will miss are the Clones i thinking.
It never will and now seems more possible. Both in Kenobi and Jedi survivor. Assajj Ventress could even show up in this show. Spoiler The Path is teased at first episode of Underworld. With Quinlan Vos.
Not when The Path has been mentioned and shown all over. The Jedi game lll will probably be all about the Path living on the planet Cal and Co finds. And regarding the Clone Rebellion, it was teased in The Bad Batch and could show up in the Maul show that or they do another show.
I think you should be happy about the series you have coming, rather than trying to turn it into 2-3 other things.
Hehe just thing i think about when a new show announced. Like The Clone Wars and Rebels tackled many storylines. One of them being Mandalorian. And The Path could be The next storylines that gets development in these dark times era. Right it seems like we get a Crimson Dawn show with Maul and Dryden Vos as its main characters and a canon version of Darth Talon origins. See how Maul made the Pykes, The Hutts and Black Sun remain loyal and under his criminal Empire rule.
Maul is one of those big loose ends in the Saga (TPM-IX) timeline which needs to be filled, so this is great. The only other gaps I’d like filled in the Saga are: Luke’s Academy (this is the big one) - probably needs to be a multi season series Yoda and Obi-Wan communing with Qui-Gon - could just be an animated film, or anthology of shorts, like Tales of the Jedi The First Order - this could be done in bits and pieces, probably tied into the stuff with Thrawn, where we get a sense of the transition from Empire, to Remnants, to the public revelation of the First Order Ahsoka, Sabine and Ezra’s fates - hopefully this’ll be tied up with the second Ahsoka season and the Thrawn film. The failed Clone Rebellion - could probably just be a mini series tying the end of The Bad Batch to where we find Rex and Wolfe in Rebels Cal’s fate - hopefully this’ll be finalised by the last game Inter-VIII and IX war - this can probably be handled with a series of novels Beyond that I think they should shift their focus to post-IX and the New Jedi Order, and to the Old Republic. We can tie the Skywalker Saga up with a bow, and we can see the massive lead into the Saga with the beginning of the Jedi, Republic, Sith, and the thousands of years of conflict; as well as the aftermath of the Saga and the rebuilding of the galaxy. Those will also have the advantage of being able to do things chronological order and have tension which they can’t really get much out of with the Saga timeline.
There is Maul before and after Solo. One where he build up his criminal Empire where all other crime Syndicates are loyal to him. After Solo he probably takes the fight to the Empire and Crimson Dawn goes into hiding and Maul exile himself. I doubt this show will cover 13-14 years of Maul from this show to Rebels or even Solo thats 9 years from this show. So we could if they wanted two Maul shows, but the second is more of a Qira show. Anything outside the saga will be a long time for as they probably want animation to cover details and loose plot threads that the Sequels did like Clone Wars covered for the Prequels. The two main shows i think after Maul are a show about Luke's jedi Acedemy and rise of the First Order as we know them in TFA two loose threads in one show. And a season of failed Clone Rebellion.
Assuming that it’s successful enough to get multiple seasons, I can see them using the first two seasons to show him building the syndicate, then have a time jump, and have the final two seasons have his fall to where we find him in Rebels (maybe have the loose end of his apprentice escaping, which can be picked up post-IX in a Rey story). There’s no need to drag things out - let’s get the remainder of his story told here in this show.
The question is will they jump over Solo and will they have Qira take the lead on the final two seasons. Also what about his apprentice Darth Talon who seems will be in this show. And the shows have never had a big time jump Rebels had 6 months. Just for the engagement and hype i could see Filoni stretching the 14 years of Maul in the Underworld into two shows. One with Maul as lead and one with Qira that will be essential a Solo Sequel.
Unless I’m misremembering, couldn’t they just have him receive a message at the end of season two about Vos having fallen? Then the next two seasons are his power struggle with Qira. I really don’t think the story should be that complicated, and they definitely don’t need multiple shows. Maul builds a shadow empire, then he is overthrown by Qira, and we find him in Rebels, which concludes his story. Ideally they’d animate those final The Clone Wars episodes and the whole thing should flow.
Maybe, i just dont see how you make big time jump when its never been done before in star Wars when doing tv show. I woundt rule out a 4th tv show with him. This is all about Maul and if Qira gets her own show Maul might just appear as supporting role or cameo role like in Rebels. Its a dream of mine to see Darth Talon in live action or in animation and now we might finally get it. And if its her origin story, we might get more Darth Talon in post ROTJ and post TROS Maybe
I really think the endgame of 2020s Star Wars TV is adapting George Lucas’s sequel trilogy ideas. Also, remember that story of Lucas walking into the game dev studio and picking up action figures of maul and talon and making them kiss?
Not the animated show I wanted, but maybe the one I need. I imagine we'll see Qira pop in late in season 1 or early in season 2, and I really hope they show us the sort of "other side" material of what was happening in Solo in one episode.
Qira might appear in season 3 or 4 if they want to do just one Crimson Dawn show. So 4-5 seasons. Season 1 will be just sometime after Clone Wars
Great news. Spoiler With Rook Kast returning and possible appearance of Talon and, later, Qira, Maul indeed employs the coolest women in the galaxy.
