    In 1981 in Sunol, CA, a dog was elected mayor. Sunol is an unincorporated between Pleasanton and Fremont and has no government. But that fateful year, Bosco was elected honorary mayor, defeating two humans for the position. His mayorship became world news when the Peoples Daily, a Chinese Communist newspaper, held Mayor Bosco up as an example of why free elections don't work.


    Ok, now Webster as gov doesn't seem so strange.
