HamptRds, VA Meeting Minutes - May 16th

Enjoyed the food!

Talked about Star Trek mainly! On a scale from 1 to 10, people were giving it a 9! Characters like "Bones" McCoy were awesome they say. Noel/Wendy also shared their Disney World experiences this past April.

Nels brought up the question about HRR's direction. Well, we continue on with what we're doing. We comply with FanForce policy by de-emphasizing costuming and emphasizing the primary mission of the club - to meet, socialize, and do fun stuff together. Fun stuff does entail doing HRR mainstay events like Masquerade in Ghent and Virginia Zoo Boo if people wish to dress up. After all, it's Halloween! We've done that in the last several years. That will not change. We can also do the CHKD thing started by Rick/Nels in December. All these events are open to everyone in our club, whether you dress up or not, in SW gear or not, open up to any other member from other SW groups, AND open to the general public at large.

In the meantime, we try to keep up with monthly meetings and doing other fun stuff this summer - stuff that could include bowling, movie outings, other get-togethers, etc.

REMEMBER, NO MEETING IN JUNE! Enjoy the summer everyone!

 

Just to add - my memory isn't as good as it used to be these days - we all shared concerns about Tony P.'s condition. I'm sure his family would appreciate any calls and/or visits, but given personal experience in matters like this, please call his significant other, Bree, before making such a hospital visit.

I'm sure Tony needs time to convalesce after such an operation.
