Men becoming like woman? Eyebrow trimming?

so I went to my bar the other night. and there were 3 of my friends guy friends. we were drinking and the talk became disturbing. the conversation led to talking about my big eyebrows and my long hair.

this is some of the stuff they said. tell me if this is true.

girls like guys that trim their eyebrows.they want them to look like theirs, my friend here gets that from girls all the time and just last night he slept with 3 at the same time


you have to get a haircut dude, your hair is too long and girls like short hair, you have to get curves and lines in your hair.


one of these days we are all going to take you to the barbershop, get your hair done and your eyebrows. then we will go to the mall and get some clothes for you.give us your number.

so I went and got a haircut and that was the end of that.

honestly, i dont know if guys are doing this. but i wouldnt be surprised. these 3 guys are all 3 brothers, one of them is a stripper at a ladys club, the others look short and bald. i dont want to look like that. also their hair is kinda curly, cause they are puerto ricans i think. and their haircuts look very straight, and almost artificial, their hair is just like a perfect map cut in different shapes. my HAIR IS NOT LIKE THAT!!

but they insisted that I get that look. kind of a thug, bald bad boy look. and they suggested i stop wearing squared shirts, like flannels, get gold chains and black shirts.

lol. im 32yrs old and i been with tons of girls, not braggin, but these guys are like 24 and they are trying to tell me what i should be looking like and dressing like? lol. i get more girls than them. just with my charm!

I just wanna know what you all think about this and if anyone else is doing this. cause i dont care if i cant belong to their little gang of bad boys. but i dont wanna look like that!

Trimming your eyebrows is very feminine. As far as the length of your hair goes, it's whatever your woman likes

 

I have a bit of a unibrow, so I have to shave it. I trim my eyebrows occasionally too.

these guys literally have woman eyebrows, like a line over the eyes in almost perfect lineup with the face. looks very feminine. its a thin, line. i remember my sister always trying to fix my eyebrows too. she wanted to pluck at them. everytime i go to her house she always wants to work with them, and i always refuse.

i wonder what woman think about this?

 

I am female.

Guys are allowed to have a lot thicker eye brows and stuff, even more scruffy. But it doesn't hurt to pluck strays, and unibrows are rarely a good thing. It doesn't take that much work to shave/pluck. It's worth the effort IMO.

 

When I was with the ex, she took every opportunity to try and pluck my eyebrows (damn, that hurt). Finally, I took the hint and started shaving/trimming myself.

 

Well, my girlfreind is a hair stylist and the only reason i Waxed (thats right i said) my eyebrow (singular) is because she wanted to.

She then tries to clean up the rest but i say nooooo way.

That's kind of excessive. I don't think super-thin eyebrows look good on women either, for what it's worth. Natural-looking = good.

If you have a very hairy unibrow area, I guess I can understand why they'd think you should trim it, but that's enough. Don't try to make your whole eyebrows look perfect. Ug. A lot of women don't even go beyond plucking the stuff in the unibrow region. I don't.

 

I just shave in between 'em, sometimes I trim off the eyebrow hairs that point straight up so they're a little bit more rounded.

But...get them done? That just seems a little excessive, at least for most people.

Keep in mind, if one or more of them are strippers, it's their job to look "perfect"...so that probably skews their advise some.

Anyway, sometimes bushy eyebrows look good on guys. It all depends on if it fits their face or not. (I'm talking the type that majestically juts away from one's forhead by easily an inch or so and mesmerizes onlookers.) But usually, you only see those on older men. That and they can't be worn well by everyone, especially if they're nappy.

I wouldn't advocate guys going and making their eyebrows look just like women's. Heck, there are some women that over pluck, draw-in, and shape their eyebrows to the point of being a joke.

That being said, plucking out strays...like if you have those one or two hairs that are jutting out further than the rest or curling into your eyes...is a good thing. You have a little fuzz in the unibrow section, that's not a problem...though if you have a few obvious ones sticking out, probably best to pluck those off and on. A full-fledged unibrow...unless you look really good with it (and there are a few that can pull it off), might want to make your uni- a bi-. Otherwise when you DO get with someone she might be tempted to do it for you just to neaten you up.

 

Trimming the brows is a necessity for me...I have a tendency to unibrow.


I just have to do it before my girl gets to them...when she does it, it feels like she's ripping flesh away as well.

 

If you shave it, it comes back thicker.

just because you don't have to look perfect, doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't. that said, anything other than debushing and trimming the middle seems to me to go beyond perfect.

 

Physical appearance is less important to women than you might think. Which is not to say it's cool to be a slop, but there are more important things, and there aren't many women who will decide whether to sleep with you on the basis of your eyebrows.

That said, as I guy, I don't find it attractive when women pluck their eyebrows into thin little lines. Unibrows and overly bushy brows can use some trimming down, but most womens' eyebrows are just fine unplucked.

And I'm perfectly happy with my own eyebrows without doing anything to them.

 

I think men should have masculine eyebrows. It's the women that shouldn't. Most men I know with unibrow do a quick shave every once in a while, but I've never heard of this plucking or waxing business. Crazy stuff . . .

Personally, a more natural look is more attractive than giving yourself pencil-thin eyebrows.

 

Yeah, those guys would be way way too gay for me. Yucky yucky.

But I'm not given to the extremely rough look, either. I've always been more attracted to preppy guys, who fix themselves up so they always look nice and clean and fresh, but not feminine. Feminitity in a guy is a HUGE turn off for me.

But that's not to say that doing certain things to make yourself look better is feminine. There's a line there somewhere, but it's hard to see. I think plucking stray eyebrows would be a good idea though.

 

Because some of us like to be well groomed that's "gay"?

I'm sorry. I'm married, I have a kid and I consider myself well groomed and neat. I've always been this way and will always be this way. Being someone who is a regular on the Con circuit, some of the "Fanboys" need to get some lessons in grooming. I don't shave my eyebrows, but I take care of myself.

Some of you may knock those of us who like to look presentable but we're the who can approach the opposite sex without them holding their noise, laughing at the uni-brow or throwing up over the forrest of nose hair coming out of your schnoze.

I wish more people would pay attention to their appearence.
