Mile Hi Con 2005 - Big Success!!

For those not already there:

We are hosting the Con Suite from 10PM to Midnight (Tonight)

The con is located at:

You do not have to have a con badge to be in the Con Suite!

We are running a Jedi Ice Cream Social, planning on getting the post costume constest traffic.

The plan is to be very simple, we have two tables, when you walk in on the left, you will grab a bowel of ice cream, there will be vanilla or chocolate, there will also be some rasberry sorbet for the lactose intolerant.

On your right will be the fixings table, there will be:

chocolate syrup
strawberry preserves
cherries
whipped cream
and rainbow sprinkles
brownies (if there's space on the table, supplied by RDT)

also napkins and spoons.

At the ice cream table we will have 3-4 people scooping the ice cream into the bowls, extra tubs of ice cream will be in coolers under the table. At the fixings table, we will have 2-3 people keeping bowls of the fixings filled.

We will have the new banner up, and flyers for both the group and the WOTR event (I hope!!!!!).

People should wear group T-shirts, or costumes (be prepared for messiness).

The fixings, bowls and stuff are already purchased.

The ice cream, ice and whipped cream will be purchased at King Soopers across the street, at 9:00 (PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOU OWN FOOD). If you want to chip to pay me back for everything, you can do so at the suite.

At 9:00 everyone should gather at my hotel room (i'll get the number to as many people as possible).

I'll leave with two other people to get the ice cream.

At 9:30 we'll take everything to the con suite to set up.

Things people are supposed to bring:

Obi_Wannabe - 1 cooler
Graco - 1 Cooler
Cyodarun - 1 cooler
I think Jthornto is bringing one too, so we should be covered there.

Obi_Wannabe - 1 pitcher
Darth Hair - 2 pitchers
That should cover that.

Mistress - baby wipes (so everyone can be sanitary).

Zoo - White ice cream server hats (???????? maybe)

People can bring there own ice cream scoops if the want be prepared for other people to use them, and if possible get broken!! . Sith Chick was also supposed to look for some at a $1 store.

Oh, I thought I had posted in the other thread that I wasn't going to make it... Maybe I just thought I did...

Well I can't make it $400 on a car and a trip to the ER has me stuck at home for the weekend

 

im gonna be heading out in a while. i can fill in for sarah if ya want.

 

I'll be there at about 8:30 and bring a couple coolers, ice cream scoop, and my camera. Say tiddlywinks! [click]

Cool to see those who could make it and just plain hanging out in the lobby with everyone was just too fun.
not to mention the EGO BOOST I got seeing the new logo on the Banner at the Con Suite. So Cool!

The Shortcake crowd was absolutely adorable! Big props to Fenig for wonderful costumes and effort.
I will try and figure out some way to get my pictures up.

 

Funny you should mention that, i'm working on that right now, as promised . More on the photo front soon.

 

Becca actually made her and MA's costumes. I only made my own. The scents were my find, but I wouldn't have even thought of it if Becca hadn't come up with doing Strawberry Shortcake and Friends in the first place!

 

Can't wait to see the pictures of the whole event!

 

Yeah, me too. We had fun, but we were hardly ever in the same spot for more than an hour. We actually made it to a good handful of actual events and panels! Can you believe that??? And we introduced our friends Alex and her boyfriend Adam to MHC. Adam took 2nd place in the bat'leth tournament while I was in the con suite, too. And it seemed like every fan group we knew was having a party on Saturday. I'll not mention the party on Friday night. *points at Nnay* LOL. And then there was the chaos in the lobby and the con suite and hanging out with a couple of the vendors.

We never got pictures, never got dressed up even though we brought costumes, and we missed the costume contest because we were tempted by watching DOOM on the big screen.

And then somehow...it's all over, we're home, and it's 1:20am.

 

And I got thee most absolutest most coolest awesomest t-shirt *ever*. I've wanted one like that ever since I got hooked on anime. LOL.

It was the one I was wearing on Saturday.

 

I have NO idea what you are talking about.

It was a lot of fun...most fun I have had in awhile...most needed fun.

Learn a couple of new games..not to mention meeting a couple of new people. OK, MORE than a couple.

Thanks to Obi for getting the ice cream and such together. My apologies for my sleepiness Saturday night.

It was a great time...now if I just find those email addresses.

 

I had a great time! Big props go to Obw_Wannabe for his organizational skills, scooping skills, and scoping-out-King-Soopers-for-their-ice-cream-inventory skills. All who came to the con suite went away happy, especially the 12-year-old kid who got 3 refills on his bowl of vanilla ice cream! Just glad he didn't freak out around us with all that sugar coursing through his system.

Pictures were taken and the prize for best photo op goes to Amy and her can of whipped cream. Sheer madness!

Actually you didn't miss much Shane.

It was boring and I was so sad...no one talked to me. I didn't do anything. I just sat in my room all weekend. :'(

 

Apparently you also found your way to the room that had Belvedere in stock. LOL
