    Thank you all! :)

Thanks so much! Yes, with this small and cute species it definitely is hard to resist, isn’t it! :D

Thanks so much! Yes, the minimalist approach seemed suitable to the subject matter, for perhaps obvious reasons. Or at least that’s what I’m trying for!

Exactly the idea! Thanks so much, as always. :)

Thanks so much! And that is definitely the perfect gif! :D Glad to have you here, and glad you enjoyed; more will come very soon.

Thanks so much! This was kind of a whim idea on my part (“can I manage at least a minimalist, small-scale Olympics?”), but I’m so glad to see it is being enjoyed so far. And I agree that the squeezies are never, ever to be underestimated! :D

Many thanks once again; next event coming very soon! :)

    Title: All U Want!
Olympics event: 110-Word Hurdle: Exactly 110-word story. As an optional bonus challenge, don't mention the name or names of your character, family, friendship or couple.
Timeframe: Saga OT, at some point post Mandalorian season 3
Genre: Slice of life, mush, humor
    Characters: Din Djarin, Grogu
Summary: Grogu receives a very special Life Day present.

It was Life Day morning. Din Djarin and little Grogu sat happily on the floor of their home on Nevarro amid a sea of wrapflimsi, boxes, ribbons, and gifts from friends.

“Just one more left, kiddo,” Din said, gesturing to an amorphous object in metallic red wrap.

Curious, Grogu picked it up and tore it open. Inside was a knitted doll just under a foot tall, with long floppy arms, stubby feet, button eyes, and hair and a beard made of fluffy gray gauze. A card fell out as well. Father and son read it together:

    TO BABY GROGU
    HAPPY LIFE DAY!!
    SQUEEZIE ALL U WANT!!
    MUCH LUV,
    THE DROIDSMITHS

    fin

The Anzellan Droidsmiths (one of whom is the original utterer of “Bad baby, no squeezie”).

    Thank you all! :)

Thanks so much! These guys deserve all the mush. :)

Indeed! At the right time and place, and applied to the right object, there is nothing like a good squeezie. It is just a matter of compromising a bit! :D

Thank you! This “clan of two” does indeed deserve some sweetness, and the Anzellan droidsmiths came up with a very sweet gift that I am sure made both Mando and Grogu very happy. :)

Many thanks again; next event coming up later today!

Title: Two Pilots and a Baby
Olympics event: 200-Word Freestyle: An exactly 200-word story about your character, family, friendship or couple with a free choice of any theme.
Timeframe: Saga OT, post Mandalorian season 3
Genre: Humor, mild action/adventure, trailer speculation
Characters: Grogu and two Anzellan pilots…
... as seen in the Mandalorian and Grogu teaser trailer shown in at D23 August 2024.
Summary: Grogu goes on a wild ride with two Anzellan pilots.

“I no like this,” said the Anzellan copilot to the Anzellan pilot over the coos and squeals erupting from their passenger as their craft zoomed upward into an elaborate loop.

“What you so worried about?” asked the pilot.

    “This no safe.”

“’Course it safe! I do this a thousand times! You know that!”

    “That not it.”

    “Then what it?”

“Baby here.” The copilot gestured back at the passenger, who was still shrieking with glee. He was a green-skinned, long-eared near-Humanoid with big, round black eyes— not their usual kind of passenger by any means. Though a juvenile of his own species, he was still more than twice as tall as an adult Anzellan, and quite a bit heavier. “Mando trust us to watch him while he gone.”

“Yeah? And? Mando know we know what we doing. And surely he understand we gotta pick up more KleenWipes.”

“Okay, but what he say when you tell him you forgot the baby seat?”

The pilot laughed as he pulled back on the yoke, preparing for another loop. WHROOOOOAAARRR went the engines. “WheeeeeeEEEEEEE!” went the baby. And the pilot’s eyes glinted as he turned to the copilot and said:

    “Who say we tell him?”

Aww! There's no need for a baby seat. Grogu's never happier than when he's flying upside-down! [face_love] [face_love]

Thanks so much as always, everyone!

Absolutely! :D Even if it means an impromptu starship run! So glad you enjoyed. :)

Thank you so much! It was fun to imagine how this scene might go. :)

Thank you! Baby seat or no, little Grogu is having the absolute time of his life—and with those mad Force skills of his he’ll be just fine! :D Glad you are enjoying this series, one thing that’s helping me turn it around fairly quickly is sticking to shorter Fanfic Olympics prompts, in keeping with the minuscule subject matter. :)

Next story coming soon; thank you all once again!

    Title: Music Box Spy
Olympics event: Synchronized Swimming: Write a story 230–500 words in length inspired by a song (or piece of music) of your choice.
    Timeframe: Saga—OT (Imperial era)
Characters: Anzellan Rebel OC, Human Imperial OC, Human Imperial potential EC
Genre: Humor, adventure, spy story, mild bad romance thankfully not involving the main character
Summary: A tiny Rebel spy is sent on a mission well suited to her size and abilities.
Notes: Per the Synchronized Swimming prompt, as the title suggests, the musical inspiration for this story was the 70s classic hit Music Box Dancer, by Frank Mills, a brief phrase of which makes an appearance in this story. See if you can find it! ;)

    Tix was a spy.

Tix was also an adolescent Anzellan, just under ten centimeters tall, and asking herself, “how did I get myself into this?”

This being a large, garishly decorated musical jewelry box belonging to Imperial Moff Melvadora Waddsley. Whenever Waddsley opened it, poor Tix, made up like a Humanoid and dressed in a tiny pink tutu, had to scramble to the little turntable at the top and stand there, arms over her head, as still as she could, spinning around while the clockwork played a tinkly, tinny tune.

It was hell. It made her dizzy. She wanted nothing more than to pull out a blowtorch and turn that clinky clockwork to slag.

“‘Easiest thing in the Galaxy,’ they said. ‘Just wait till she puts the code ring in there and then grab it,’ they said. Hmph.”

For she had now been here two whole days and that had not happened. Oh, the moff was always opening her jewelry box to exchange one gaudy bauble for another. The bauble being exchanged just never happened to be the code ring. (With, you know, the beskar refinery plans that the Alliance needed?)

Tonight, however, Tix thought she might have a chance.

The moff had just gotten home from the Vanderbleck Station Gala Mixer— and not alone, either. A considerable amount of “Oh, Cumberlayne!”-ing and “Oh, Melvadora!”-ing could be heard as not one but two sets of footsteps shuffled upstairs. The shuffling and “Oh”-ing grew louder and louder and was soon joined by the rustling of… clothing?

Then, a hand lifted the lid of the box.

    Tix scurried to her place—

—and the clockwork had just time to clink out a quick “deedle-deedle-deedle-deedle deedle-DEE-DOO!” as a tangled wad of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings was stuffed inside…

…along with ONE (1) CODE RING.

The box slammed shut. The music stopped (thank all the Sparks). “Ohs!” and “Oohs!” and “Ahs!” of increasing volume and intensity could still be heard outside, but Tix didn’t care. Sliding the ring over one wrist like a bracelet, she slipped through a crack between the wall and bottom of the box, slid down an orange scarf that conveniently happened to be draped over the dresser, and made for the nearest mousehole.

Alliance Command would be overjoyed to get those plans at last.

But nowhere near as overjoyed as Tix was just to get out of there.

    fin
Moff Melvadora Waddsley is an OC who previously appeared in Shaman, Traveler, Oracle chapter 20 and The Bearer of This Pass. Her “friend” just might be Commandant Cumberlayne Aresko. (Offers bottle of brain bleach if you need it!) I thank Raissa for suggesting him when I waffled about which Imperial officer to use.

The Vanderbleck Station Gala Mixer was also referenced in Shaman, Traveler, Oracle chapter 20.

Tix is a cute name; and this is a very unique context for the song, a code ring for refinery plans housed in a music box.

Now I'm going to go refresh my memory on that particular tune.

Thank you both so much! :)
Thank you! Our heroine’s tiny size does make her well suited to this kind of spy work, especially where the target object in question is something small like a ring in a jewelry box. Of course, it’s got its own set of obstacles and challenges, too! Other Rebel spies don’t necessarily have to dress up in pink tutus and do quite as much spinning around, for example. :p

She does indeed; mission successful, thank goodness! (Especially with what else is going on in the room at that moment! :p [face_sick] )

Thanks so much as always for reading and enjoying. :) I’ll have the last piece in the pentathlon up a little later today. This was fun! :D

And here is my final event in this pentathlon! Many thanks once again to all who have come by to read and enjoy this little series. @};-

    Title: This Old Droid
Olympics event: 400 Word Cross Country: Exactly 400 words about your character, couple, family or friendship with any theme.
    Timeframe: Saga—ST
Characters: Babu Frik and a certain droid
    Genre: Slice of life, humor
Summary: Babu Frik exerts his skills in droidsmithy to restore an ancient droid processor to functionality.

Babu Frik had never been so excited. This would easily be the pinnacle of his long and successful career in droidsmithy. He still couldn’t believe his good fortune in finding such a specimen: an ancient droid processing unit from the era of the Jedi Civil War, almost four thousand years ago. And in the unlikeliest of places, too: how in the Sparks’ name had a processor like this ended up in that fancy N’espresso caf machine? That Frik still did not know, but it didn’t matter. It was his now, and he was determined to exert the utmost of his skill to plumb the secrets of its inner workings and restore it to full functionality.

He had been up all night tinkering with the processor, cleaning away rust and dirt, tweaking each circuit, checking and reinforcing the soldering, and trying the unit out in various interfaces and housings. So far he had had no success, but was not surprised: the circuitry was so old that it was hard to find compatible modern hardware. It was slow, tedious work. Frik had to handle the ancient processor carefully and make as few alterations to it as he could, as one wrong step could very easily damage a unit this old. These early droids were known for their extremely intricate wiring and delicate design. Truly this was the challenge of a lifetime, unlike any he had ever faced.

But delicate work was his specialty. He was built for it, like all his people. There was a reason the Galaxy’s best droidsmiths were Anzellans!

And now, as dawn cast its rosy glow on the squalid rooftops of the Thieves’ Quarter, Frik thought a breakthrough might finally be in sight. A long dig in the scrap shed had turned up a suitable chassis— an assassin unit from the same era, of all things— and with some effort he had managed to get the processor seated within it. All that remained now was to interface its main circuits with the chassis’s central module.

Frik took his smallest solderhook in hand, focused his corneal microlenses to their maximum magnification, sent up a silent prayer to the Sparks— and joined contact to miniature contact as only an Anzellan master droidsmith could…

Servos whirred to life. Photoreceptors flickered amber in the dim workroom. And a synthesized humanoid voice droned from the vocoder:

“Statement: HK-47 is ready to serve, master.”

    fin

Thieves’ Quarter (the region of Kijimi where we encounter Babu Frik in TROS)
    HK-47
How did a processor like this end up in that fancy N’espresso caf machine, anyway? Find out in A Steamy Vengeance! :D
