So , before Lucas film finally wraps up star wars hopefully within twenty years...there are a few things I'd love to see on screen that's so far only in a book, comic or game 1. Battle of malachor or similar ancient old republic conflict 2. Battle of jakku /operation cinder.. would give the opening of TFA more meaning 3. Real life clone wars jousting as seen in original clone wars(battle of muunilist) 4. Palpatine killing his master in his sleep particularly after finally seeing him 5. The starlight beacon disaster What are your top five things to see in film or TV show?
I'd love to see the following in some film or other: 1. Battle of Jakku 2. Young Luke in action on one of his 'adventures' that occurred between ROTJ and TFA, exemplifying how he became a 'legend.' 3. Palpatine's turn to the darkside and that whole story with Darth Plagueis 4. The Great Hyperspace War 5. Some kind of spinoff or even a trilogy taking place between TPM and AOTC, when Anakin is about 12 or 13 - perhaps chronicling his first real mission or some significant personality-shaping event he experiences But if I had to pick just one I would say I'd love to see adventures featuring young Luke post ROTJ.
the forums in 2039 thread title: what SW movie/show do you think needs to happen? A very old Sarge: Rogue.Squadron
Live action specifically? Hmm I'd probably say something that involves little to none of the established live action characters. I might be pleasantly surprised, but I'm generally not crazy on the idea of recasting? But a lot of actors are either noticeably older or dead, so you'd have to either go the route of animation like TotJ, or just recast. Or make some weird decisions like whatever Lucasfilm is doing with Hayden. In the Obi-Wan show, he just looks like a guy who's about 40 trying to play a guy who's about 20 (and that was apparently with some deageing stuff?) and in Ahsoka, they went so overboard with the CG deageing that his face just looks like it's melting So yeah, I'd probably stick with something adjacent to the movies that doesn't necessarily have much to do with those characters. Rogue One's a good example. I guess it might be fun to see a "Rogue Two" with many Bothans who die to acquire information, lots of potential there. Uhh. I guess some live action details on the rise of the First Order would be great. I think it's a shame that so much of it is relegated to comics. If they must use Snoke, then at least he's CGI mocap and Andy Serkis is a good voice actor, so age isn't much of a concern there. I think one of the TV shows (Mandalorian maybe?) already cast someone as Hux's father? So that's a case where you probably don't need to do too much makeup/CGI to alter the actor's age
post ANH Vader's search for the identity of the pilot who destroyed the Death Star, culminating in his discovery that his son is alive.
I would love to see the planet sullust on screen in a storyline...and of course dantooine and lothal...one or both of which I hope are in Andor
Whilst I love this idea, it wouldn't be able to culminate in said discovery, given the revised exchange in The Empire Strikes Back... Sidious: "We have a new enemy: the young Rebel who destroyed the Death Star. I have no doubt this boy is the offspring of Anakin Skywalker." Vader: "How is that possible?" Sidious: "Search your feelings, Lord Vader. You will know it to be true." ...although the show / movie / project could always confirm the theory that Vader already knew, and that he was playing dumb so as to hide his intention to overthrow Sidious with Luke's help, in order to rule the galaxy as father and son. Have you watched Ahsoka yet...?
Vader knew. If he's just finding out at that point he looks like a doofus. As it says in the crawl - Vader is obsessed with finding Skywalker.
Rest assured I'm not gonna bring up the whole "it's a common surname" thing. Especially since, like I said, I love your idea and agree it would be cool to see!
