Mon Mothma Gone?

In Rebel Stand or Rebel Dream (I can't remember which) someone says something like "the late former Chief of State". Is Mon Mothma dead? When/where/how?

 

She died of a weakend immune system from the dieses the Caridian guy gave her, shortly before the YuuzhanVong invasion.

 

Correct, she died of old age and a weakened immune system on Coruscant, between Vision of the Future and Vector Prime.

She has a ship named after her in the New Republic Navy.

Oh...wow...that's kind of sad. Although, I got a very different picture of her in TTT than I was used to. She didn't seem as kind for some reason. Sigh. She should have been around to still be Chief of State. Then they could have had a chance.

 

Why are they killing all the rebel leaders?

One cannot escape earthly death. We all die, including you and I. what would you rathe rhave, these characters live forever?

Well, Mon Mothma was pretty agey in ROTJ. Although, I don't think Madine was too old. And they didn't kill him very well. After he died I was like "What? That's it?". Dodonna was like 60 in ANH so I'm not suprised at all he bit the dust.

 

It's not soon. Mon Mothma was already pretty old in RotJ. She must have been aging by NJO.

He was shot by a dirty Hutt.

 

Madine dies in "darksaber."

He was sent with another to scout out the Death Star superlaser being built by Durga the Hutt. he was captured and killed right before the NR fleet came in. The superlaser was a piece of crap however due to very bad construction.

It was kind of surprising because this wa the first tiem in SW that a character had actually died. I kept thinking he was miraculously goign to some back, as they usually do.

The main fault with KJA's books (and many, many other EU books) is that they're all slanted against the Empire, portraying them as stupid bumbling incompetents who lost their own ships more often then they killed the enemy's.

 

Hamtaro, Rieeken wasn't dead in SbS because he was the commander of the Coruscant's defence, I mean they needed a good commander when the Vong were close.

Last i checked, Rieekan was alive but that was before the Battle of Coruscant.
Also, when did Dodonna die ?

There are a couple of other (Not listed above) NR Generals in Ylesia still alive.

It was very surprising to see them in the EU after... A long time.

 

Whoever said Mon Mothma died on her home planet is dead wrong

She dies at her main home on Coruscant where she lived with her daughter, she passed away in her sleep just before the VOng invaded.
