Mortal Kombat: Conquest

I've been wondering for some time, whatever happened to this show?

I thought it was kinda' cool...Sure, the beginning of the series had a lot of scantily clad women, lesbianism (is that a word? ), and sex, but as the season progressed, the story became very intriguing, in my opinion.
Maybe I'm being biased 'cuz I used to be a fan of the MK games, but I did think the concluding plot was rather interesting...not to mention cool.

And, sure, I didn't understand how Scorpion and Sub-Zero fit into the "prequel" story, but I guess they were just there to appeal to the fans...since they're like the most popular MK characters.

Anyway, did the series ever have a second season? If no, why not? Does anyone know?

I mean, what a crappy way to end it! Kitana dies?! Shang Tsung dies?! Rayden gets imprisoned in Outworld after that spectacular duel with Shao Khan?! Kung Lao dies at the hands of someone other than Goro?!

 

It wasnt such a great show, but I became somewhat hooked on it (it was all shown within about 3-4 weeks here, in uni holidays at midnight-ish, so I watched).

Essentially, it rated pretty poorly in the US, so they axed it...and the producers wanted to go out with a bang instead of a whimper, so they let the bad guy win.

It wasnt the bad guy winning that I disliked, it was that there was no development to it...just all of a sudden the bad dude deciding he was going to kill everyone.

Sorta ruined the development of the whole series if he could do it all along...

 

True...I supposed I am being biased...not to mention the fact that I was like 16 when I watched the series...

I saw it when I used to live in Canada. It was one episode every Thursday night, so it lasted for an entire season up there. And, according to the MK storyline, the bad guy was supposed to win anyway, but not like that!

Kung Lao was supposed to be brutally beaten by Goro! I wanted to see Goro!

 

It's cancelled, but Mortal Kombat is TEH RULE!!!

 

Mortal Kombat had a Tv show?...really? I never knew. huh.

i watched the series as well

i thought it was quite good in parts, like the fighting was well choreographed and all the characters were very well interpreted

i didn't see the last few episodes, which i regret, but the show could have been a lot better though

i think the makers of the show were well-aware of it's key demographic audience and so ruined it with all the um, "course material"

but i enjoyed some of te episodes that i saw and would have liked a second series

 

I heard that they're making a third MK movie?

Valyn, I think they are in early script stage, far from coming out. There isn't even official word on castings yet.

 

I hope it's better than the second movie...that was pure bs, in my opinion.

Do you know if they're makin' a fifth game?

I used to watch the TV show each week it came on. I missed the last few episodes. I thought it was farely good for a MK TV Series. I personlly wouldn't have minded seeing a second season. Oh well........I guess we still have to look forward to the new MK game coming out which I must add should put some fire back into the series.
