Roper was wittier but I think Furley edges him out.

Neither. They both get trumped by Mr. Feeny.

From what I've seen, I like Roper better. Much as I love Don Knotts, he was way over the top(even though I realize the show was meant to be that way).

I saw a E! True Hollywood Story on 3's company and the actors that played the Ropers got completely screwed out of that show.

Yeah, I read on Wikipedia the other day that there was a clause in Norman Fell's(Mr. Roper's) contract for the spinoff show The Ropers that if it was cancelled after less than a year he could return to Three's Company, but they waited an extra month to cancel it just to keep him off the show.

Furley was much funnier. Roper hated the roommates too much. I liked that Furley got somewhat along with them.

I like Mr. Furley better, though I like Mr. Roper a lot as well. Has anyone seen the episode where the Ropers were on after Mr. Furley became landlord, and Mrs. Roper tried to make it look like she was sleeping with Mr. Furley? That episode was funny.

I liked the episode where Jack makes Furley think that Jack's twin brother from Texas is in the apartments and all Jack has to do is put on a large cowboy hat to fool Furley.
