Murder by Death

Who here has seen this comedy classic? It is an undiscovered jem that most people have never even heard of. Lol... Peter Sellers is great.

 

That is truly a hysterical film. I think everyone is great. Sellers, Niven, Falk and Guiness are the standouts. It's even funnier if you're a fan of the mystery genres they spoof.

Truly a comedy classic.

 

I really like Peter Sellers as a Chinese detective with an adopted japanese son and Alec Guiness as the butler Jamessir Bensenmum.

Adopted son Willy: "I don't get it , Pop, was there a murder?"

Peter Sellers: "Yes, killed good weekend."

 

What about "The Magic Christian"?

"Dad, do words corrupt?"

"I don't know, son. Let's find out. Agnes? Nipple."

"There doesn't seem to be any immediate reaction."

 

Sam Diamond: Locked, from the inside. That can only mean one thing. And I don't know what it is.

Sidney Wang: Mrs. Charleston's hair red. You have blond hairs on shoulder. This means she has dyed red hair blond, then back again to red, or else you have been... So sorry, Wang is wrong.

 

Dick Charleston: (about five minutes too late) I've figured it out. There are two of everything!

I do love this old classic. I probably would have mentioned the pronoun line but HLAS beat me to it.

On a related note, it was amusing how Seller's character would refer to the moose as a 'cow'.

The methods by which the various detectives survived the murder attempts in their bedrooms were hilarious.

 

It's an awesome movie. I watched it again yesterday thanks to MasterPulp and loved it all over again!

 

I died when Miss Marbles' nurse said "Jesus H. Christ!!"
