I'm making a lightsaber fight for my newest fan film and i need some music that hasn't been used before in other films. Perhaps the Tie fighters attack from ANH. Any thoughts on possible music?

Well you probably will know this but Duel of Fates is quite a cliche now, unless it's a massive climatic battle.

TIE Fighter Battle could be good, I think. If the battle is meant to be emotional, however, I don't think it would suit it.

Well, the truth is...we've got 3 fights. I've reserved the battle of Endor II for the final fight. And i don't want to use BoTH or DoTF.

What about The pit of the Carkoon?

    Any Thoughts?

The dune sea battle music would be good, IMO. I once saw a fanfilm sabre duel to some Rob Zombie music-it worked rather well; you might wanna look at some goood ol angry heavy metal :p

You could use Requiem for a Dream from I think the Two Towers Soundtrack. I dowloaded it (go Limewire!!!) It's really dramatic, even though it's not SW it would still work.

Looking through the track listings for possibilities...

    TPM (Ultimate Edition)
Anakin Defeats Sebulba or Escape from Naboo
The Giant Squid and the Attack on Theed
    The Battle Rages On
The Gungans Retreat and The Queen Surrenders

    AOTC
    Jango's Escape
Zam the Assassin and The Chase Through Coruscant
    The Arena

    ROTS
    Anakin's Dark Deeds
    General Grievous
    Grievous and the Droids
Star Wars and The Revenge of the Sith

    ANH
Shootout in the Cell Bay / Dianoga
    TIE Fighter Attack
The Millenium Falcon / Imperial Cruiser Pursuit

    TESB
    Battle of Hoth
    Aboard the Executor
    Attacking a Star Destroyer

    ROTJ
    Den of the Rancor
Sail Barge Assault (both movie version and alternate)
Battle of Endor I (especially Into the Trap)

I tried to leave the music from the actual duels in the movies off the list.

I think i can see enter lord Vader being used for the build up to the fight.

I could slow-mo the final fight, mute it and then add the fist half of the immolation scene.

Schannapi das Kleine Krokodil would be awesome for a saber fight!

No seriously, i'd go with General Grevious from the Ep III soundtrack

General Grievous, Jango's Escape, and the Battle Rages On. And if you're doing a more heroic fight, try The Battle of Endor III, Superstructure Chase. Or perhaps the music theat plays during Lancelot's slaughter in MP and the Holy Grail?:p

If the duel is intended to be tragic, try Across the Stars. My brother and I thought that made for a surprisingly moving score behind the Arena battle in AOTC (cue it so that the solo oboe comes in as Mace is flying through the air).

If looking outside of the SW soundtracks themselves is all right, check out "O Fortuna" from the opera "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff. It sounds very similar to Duel of the Fates and would work very well. Other than that, I suggest Anakin's Dark Deeds or Grievous Speaks to Lord Sidious.

Seriously you should go with Either
    1:Into The Trap
    2:Clash of The Lightsaber.
That's All I can think of.

Have you thought about using music from some of the Star Wars games? With the right tools, music can be extracted from Knights of the Old Republic (and its sequel) which could give you some good music to use for lightsaber duels. Republic Comando has a ton of great music in OGG format that could be used. The Jedi Knight series of games has music that can be extracted, though most if not all of it is made up of edited music from the soundtracks. Many other games have music either readily available or that you can extract with various freeware programs.

If you want to, you could try using different tracks as your sources and mixing your own score for your duels. I've made some customized tracks by mixing cues from the soundtracks and games. Now if only I was capable of making a fan film to use them with. :D

You could use some of the music from TPM video games. The music that was never released on soundtrack.

That's another idea. In a day or two, I can get the (original) music from any game in the Rogue Squadron series in a .zip posted on yousendit or something if you like.

You can download all the music off the LucasArts page as well.

You can download some of it from the LucasArts site, but there is a lot more of it that is installed with the game that you can't get from LucasArts' site.
