My mom did that and it wasnt any fun.

Ouch. I feel his pain. I have kidney stones too.


Btw, sometimes kidney stones might not sound that bad, but try passing one that's the size of small pebble on the ground (the size of the biggest one I've passed. )

 

How long does it take? How do you get it out, just keep peeing till it pushes through?

 

Basically, yeah. And the time can vary alot. If you have the smallest kind (the size of a grain a sand) they can pass within a couple of hours, and you can barely feel anything. But for the big one I mentioned before, that one took me 8 days to pass.

 

Heheh, it's actually wasn't quite as bad as it sounds. 7 1/2 of those days it was stuck between my kidney and my bladder, and while it did cause pain, it didn't affect peeing or anything.

I had to pass one once, and it hurt like hell. I had blood in my peee and everything. My mom has a chronic problem where she gets kidney stones a lot.

 

I've always had chiseled features and rock hard abs, so I guess when my mom gave birth to me it was probably like the biggest and most awesome kidney stone ever.

Oh, my dad had to do that a couple of years ago - not good.

 

I had a kidney stone in 5th grade. I had no idea such pain existed. I ended up having lithotripsy (breaking up the stone with sound waves).

yeah, it's not fun. I didn't pass mine. It was lodged around my kidney..and they..

had to go in and get it. UGH!!

Reliable sources say that if you were to cut your area off whilst you were roasting over an open fire and swallowing seashells and trying to crap out an orange, then you have an idea of about half the pain of a kidney stone

 

I`ve had several kidney stones. Not fun. Tell your Dad to drink lots of liquid

 

This thread makes me want to throw up.

 

I had one once, or it was a blemish on the x-ray. I was in pain for a couple of days, so I went to the doctor. They took an x-ray, and there was this little dot, so they scheduled me for an ultrasound. The night before I was supposed to go for the ultrasound I woke up in the middle of the night, and spent the next hour or so huddled in a fetal position, mumbling cliches to help me deal with the pain. The ultrasound didn't turn anything up, so either I passed it that night, or I had one mother of a nerve-twinge.
