Hello, my fellow Star Wars fanatics! This is my first Star Wars fan fic, so it may not be all that great. This is only chapter one of a semi-long story. It is set right after Attack Of The Clones, but before Revenge Of The Sith, so Anakin and Obi-Wan look like they do from Episode III. Here we go! May The Force Be With You! (And I also will be posting the cover up soon!)

Star Wars: The Darkness Within

?I am sorry, Master Jedi, but I simply cannot help you with your affairs as of now.? said Chancellor Palpatine, as he looked at the two sullen Jedi Masters in his office. The Jedi were Yoda and Mace Windu. ?Balmorra is intending on leaving the Republic. I am too tied up in Senatorial affairs to deal with a?. what is it? DARK Jedi?? Mace lowered his head and sighed. ?It seems not even the Senate can aid us in our time of need.? he said, lowly. Palpatine stood up from his chair and smiled at the two Jedi. ?Well, I must be getting back to work now.? he said lightly, turning towards Mas Amedda, his chief executor.
Yoda stood up form his seat and slowly walked to the door, looking back at Mace, who was still sitting. ?Master Windu, coming, are you?? Mace?s eye looked towards Yoda?s, and he, too, stood up, and both Jedi made their way to the Jedi Temple.

Obi-Wan Kenobi looked up at the hologram projector of Mace Windu and Master Yoda. ?Well, I think Anakin and I can come back early from our siege on Tatooine. Our troops are very well supplied, and the droid armies are almost run off.? explained Obi-Wan, a gleam in his eye, now that he was finally being able to get off this dust ball of a planet. Mace nodded his head and looked down at Yoda. ?Never be too sure, you can, Master Obi-Wan. More and more droids, Dooku is conducting.? Kenobi nodded and shut off the hologram. Kenobi rubbed his chin, and then went searching for his Padawan.
R2-D2 beeped as Anakin Skywalker shut off his lightsaber. Anakin looked across the desert planet, and eyed his troops, who were exhausted from the droid attack that had just happened not five minutes ago. Anakin walked up to Commander Cody. ?Good job today, Commander.? congratulated Anakin. Cody took off his helmet and nodded his head to Anakin. ?Thank you sir.? he said, proudly smiling. Cody looked behind Anakin to see Obi-Wan come up. Obi-Wan greeted the troops and turned towards his apprentice. ?My Padawan, it seems we are having an early resignation from this battle, which means you will be head of command, Cody.? explained Obi-Wan, arms folded as a sandstorm began to brew. ?And it seems our troops need to take cover. Another storm is coming.? winced Anakin, the sand hitting his face.

The clone troopers removed their helmets and set down their weapons at their camps. They had driven off a batch of Tusken Raiders for it, with the help of Anakin and Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan and Anakin prepared to leave as the LAAT/i gunship landed to retrieve them. Obi-Wan gave some last minute orders to Commander Cody, with Cody replying, ?No need to worry, General. I have things well in hand.? Obi-Wan smiled and put his hand on Cody?s shoulder, then walking aboard the gunship, ready to take off. The gunship took off, sand forming into a ferocious storm from the take off, leaving the atmosphere of Tatooine, and heading for the Republic cruisers that lay in wait outside of the system.

I will hopefully have chapter 2 up this weekend, as I am currently working on it. This is mainly just an introduction chapter.

 

Very intriguing beginning.

It was interesting to see Palpatine refuse to help the Jedi...even if it appeared he had a good reason.

I am very sorry to keep you SW readers waiting. Been caught up with other Star Wars things, with the release of The Clone Wars DVD and the Clone Wars videogames tomorrow (which I will be getting all, and also no school!). Anyways, here is Chapter 2, once again, it is not that exciting. Just setting the stage for what is to come.

Chapter 2

On Christophsis, things looked dark for the clone troopers on duty. A dark assassin had been reported sneaking about the streets of the crystal planet, so the clones were to be extra careful. Trooper 891-762 was patrolling the northern streets of the planet, when he saw a quick shadow float past. 891-762 raised his DC-15A blaster rifle and looked around curiously, then went back to his duty. Off in the southern streets, trooper 67-129 heard a faint hum, then a grunt.
Back at the holoprojectors, Commander Lucrian was checking up on his troops. After hearing from the troops on the southern, eastern, and western streets, Lucrian began to worry about 891-762, who he could not contact. ?Send out BARC speeders up to the north, see what 891 is doing.? commanded Lucrian. The troops nodded their heads and quickly grunted, ?Yes, sir!?

After reaching the northern streets, the troops dismounted from their BARC speeders and pulled out their DC-15S blasters, searching behind the shattered buildings of the crystalline planet. As they searched in vain, one of the troops yelled, ?Over here! It?s 891?s helmet.? The lieutenant picked up the helmet, and then heard a faint whisper behind him. Right when he turned around, a lightsaber stuck the lieutenant in the torso, killing him. The troopers pulled out their blasters and began firing at the intruder. But they were no match for this one.
After no response from the recover squad, Lucrian sent a distress signal to the Republic cruisers orbiting the system. ?Cruiser 31174, this is Commander Lucrian. We are under pressure of a faint shadow in the?. Wait. What is that?!? The message then stopped transmitting, as the cruiser called back in, ?Trooper. Trooper! Come in!? A foot then smashed the transmitter into pieces. The dark figure, face covered by shadow, leaned down and looked at the dead clone. ?Poor clone?? The figure then stuck his light saber, glowing like the color of blood, into the back of the troop, the body twitching a bit. The shadowy figure then deactivated his lightsaber. ?Soon these? clone troopers? will be NO MORE!?

As this event was occurring, Yoda put his hand on his heart and breathed deeply. There was a tremor in the Force. He could feel it.

Chapter 3

Why am I always thrown into ridiculous situations?? thought Obi-Wan. Dog-fighting in space was Obi-Wan?s pet peeve. Just as the Republic cruiser carrying Anakin and Obi-Wan entered the system of Christophsis, the Separatist fleet came out of hyperspace. Obi-Wan and Anakin prepped their Delta-7B Jedi Starfighters and went out to meet the vulture droids. Now, Kenobi was tapping every button on his control pad to outmaneuver these droids. ?Ah, blast. Anakin. Anakin, come in.? said Obi-Wan over the comlinks. ?Read you loud and clear, Master.? replied Anakin, swerving past two fighters. Obi-Wan looked as the vulture droid exploded in front of him, then responded, ?One of us is going to have to stay here with the fleet. I will go down to the planet?s surface and find out what has happened to the strike team.? Anakin wondered why Obi-Wan always got the easy job. Anakin sighed. ?Alright, Master. I will hold off the Sep fleet as long as I can.? Obi-Wan dismissed the comlink and flew his starfighter down towards the atmosphere of Christophsis.

On board the Republic cruiser, Resolute, Commander Jegin was contacting the Jedi Council. ?Master Windu, sir. We have heard from General Kenobi that he has landed on Christophsis is searching the city for any survivors.? Windu nodded his head to the commander. ?Very good. Let us only hope Kenobi can gain a foothold as well.? Jegin ended the transmission, just as the cruiser was hit, rocking the ship a little. Jegin gave a quick laugh, then eyed the charts. He put his hand on one of the clone?s who was also examining the charts. ?What?s the status?? asked Jegin. The troop pointed to a blinking dot on the chart. ?It seems enemy reinforcements are entering the system. It will not be long until we are outgunned.? Jegin removed his helmet and rubbed his head. ?Let us only hope that Skywalker is as good of a pilot as they say he is?? commented Jegin.

Obi-Wan?s lightsaber lit his face as he walked down the dark, dank alley. As he examined every corner of the alley, Kenobi saw a broken DC-15A behind some rubble. I have a bad feeling about this thought Obi-Wan. There was a great disturbance in the Force. Obi-Wan opened his comlink and put in the number to the cruiser. Obi-Wan put in a holographic transmission and sent it the cruiser, telling that there were no survivors thus far on Christophsis. As Obi-Wan transmitted his message, the shadowy figure stood above Kenobi, on a broken rampart. The figure ignited his lightsaber and jumped down at Kenobi. Right before the lightsaber could do damage, Obi-Wan met the man?s lightsaber with his own, smiling. ?I was beginning to wonder if you?d ever come out.? said Kenobi, sarcastically. They clashed light sabers, Obi-Wan, a master in Form III, defended himself against the hooded figure. They then looked at one another. ?Who are you?? demanded Obi-Wan. The figure drew back his hood, to reveal a man, around his thirties, with dark hair and a face of war and tiredness. ?Why ask, Master Kenobi. After all, we have met before.? said the man. Obi-Wan tried to remember the man?s face, but as he looked, the man raised his light saber to strike him. Obi-Wan parried the blow, and used the Force to throw a pile of rubble at the man. As the man was blown back, Kenobi used the Force and jumped up to one of the broken buildings. But, this man was strong in the Force, and caught up with Kenobi. ?Why run, Jedi?? smirked the man. He raised his lightsaber and swung at Kenobi.

I wouldn't have known this was your first fan fic if you hadn't told us. It's good! It flows really well. My only critique, and this is just sort of nit picky, would be to start a new paragraph when a new character is talking. Otherwise it's great! Your technical knowledge of everything is really impressive. looking forward to your next post!

I am currently writing a short fan fic called "The Spy Of The Forest Moon". After this I should have a new chapter to The Darkness Within up.

 

I have abandoned this story, I know. I am working on my REAL first fan fic "Star Wars: The Battle Of Kashyyyk". I am almost done with it, and will be sure to share it with you all!

But, when I am done with "TBoK", I am DEFINITELY going to get this story finished. I hope all you readers of this (and new ones) will come back and read it once I post the next chapter.
