name pronounciation

how in the name of the Force do u pronounce Borsk Fey'lya (just the last name please)

i personally have no idea what so ever although my friend says its Fey-a-la, which i thinks is wrong.

 

There are several names I want to learn how to pronounce.

Ysanne Isard
Zsinj
Tycho Celchu

Up until a week ago, I was pronouncing Thyferra "Tyferra". Don't ask why...

I've been doing it "Teecho Selchoo" but I don't think I'm right.

"Fey'lya" is pronounced exactly like it is spelled. It's a joke- "Failure", get it?

"Tycho Celchu" is, as near as I can guess from various abbreviations in various books, "TIE-ko SEL-ku".

 

I pronounce tycho like ty-co. I know it's wrong though

That's just what it sounds like. BTW, you might want to check previous threads about how to pronounce names. There are plenty of opinions already out there for your convenience.

Tyco Cell Cue ( as in snooker cue)

Borsk Fey'leia ( as in Leia Organa Solo)

*also sounds abit like the word 'Failure' which happens to be ironic as his efforts are apt to his name in 'Star by Star'

Sa' vong lah (the 't' is silent)

Tie-co sel-choo. I don't know where you get the "kel-choo" part from. In the English language, a C followed by an E always has an S sound.

 

Well, not ALWAYS, but it has to be "sel", because when Winter asks Corran about a "mutual friend", he asks if she means "Sel".

 

Anyone know how to pronounce Zsinj?

 

I pronounce it Zinj, with a silent "s."

 

No no no, Sel is Tycho's middle name! they state that in the book.

I oce took part in a thread in a NG about the Ysanne pronounciation, and can't remember how it went Heck, if I remember right, MAS took part in it as well!

And in my opinion, Isard is pronounced so that it sounds like Iceheart. That's thhe joke in it, you know.

And, I've always pronounced Borsk's name Fey-ly-a, rhyming with failure (I noticed it myself when i read HttE... boy, did I laugh...
